Also, wouldn't his drunkenness be a good thing?

Of course, since the single time he was sober he managed to annihilate a hydra barehanded. I'd be afraid of being on the same continent as the Captain if his profile read "...and has gone without it (alcohol) far too long."

Nist Akath would burn in one night if all the alcohol were destroyed!

And then, out of the rubble, a pissed-off Ironblood would come crawling out.....and the world is doomed.

Actually, there are plenty of fish. I have also had a problem with turtles crawling around the icy tundra until they die of cold.
The captain should change his last name to Birdseye.

BLASPHEMY.

Also, why?

So he can sell captain birdseye frozen turtle fingers

Haha awesome.  I FINALLY caught up on reading this monster.  I've been putting it off like so many other people said they had been and decided it would be something fun to do while I'm not working at work.  Thanks for keeping this going Captain!

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

This is amazing. I spent ~1.5 days reading every page, and am excited out of my mind to see what will happen next.

Hi, just doing the standard "It took me 4 days to read the entire story and now I want to have Captain Mayday's babies" post, along with the traditional dwarf request:

Name: Hassan
Profession: Dashing Swordsdwarf (aka swordsdwarf with custom profession name)
Gender: Male
I'd prefer if he fight with a scimitar, but I'm not quite sure what Dwarf Companion can manage in that sense.  He's pretty vain and considers himself to be a highly charismatic individual (hence the Dashing Swordsman stuff), but is really just pretty average.

Think you can brave the cold? How about endless waves of zombies, goblins, and orcs? Check out Talltower the Tall Tower of Ice.

No, you read wrong. We want our characters to be Captain Mayday's babies. Totally different.

I was looking back at the first page, trying to get a clue as to how to make a legendary story.  Then I saw this.
This fortress is ridiculously doomed. Count me in.<P>Name: Nagash
Good days, eh?

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Not really, some of the older posts by the Captain were made a month apart, but made up for it by being huge and detailed; although he did say he'd update in a week or so, but that was about 3-4 weeks ago....eh well, be patient.
