Sheesh, less than a day,and this is already one spot from the second page.

If the army arc was here I'd say that we should 'remove' some of these other threads.

Anyway, I'm sure that it'll be epic (as per usual) Captain Mayday! You're an inspiration to us all.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I just remembered! I bought a 2D animation program a couple of days ago. I haven't got a chance to fire it up, but can I ask for permission to start on THE NIST AKATH MOVIE?

That would be pretty awesome. You'd have to cull a lot of stuff, though.

Eh, this isn't going anywhere near the second page if I have anything to say about it.

As as it so happens, I do.

And that thing I have to say, is quite simply, BUMP.

We should all pitch in to buy Cap'n a 1000 processor super computer to play DF at 10,000 FPS.

I can get up to 500.

It goes so fast, 5 minutes in I got migrants.

10 000, his dwarfs would die of old age as soon as he embarked.

Even though that is not implemented.

I got back to reading this after a lengthy hiatus, and I must say I am pleased that I returned. The writing quality is excellent, as always, and there is truly nothing that can stand up to an Ironblood. They have truly earned the name, and if I am ever so fortunate enough to come across the Captain, I shall swear my allegiance to him immediately.

Alas, I do not live in the world of DF, so the chances of that happening are close to nil. BUT I WILL HOPE!

Also, reporting in once more room is available in the group. Hopefully before the Adventure Mode adventures end.

Name: Kalen.
Profession: Swordsdwarf.
Gender: Female.
Backstory: It's Kalen. From the Bellsmaw. Her ship is gone and that angers her greatly. Enough to accept going on suicidal missions with a dwarf she's never seen in her life. This dwarf will rip you a structurally superfluous new behind, laugh at you and then ram her sword up it and into your brain.

I'd really like it to go faster.
At the moment I'm playing through fortress mode to advance time and make good weapons and stuff.

This story is what got me to start thinking about registering for this forum.  And now that I have(and since it's on the second page), I have three things to say:

1)  This is one awesome story Captain!  :D

2)  If someone does make a Nist Akath movie, it would make an awesome trilogy.

3)  BUMP  :)

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

I thought I'd give you guys a status update so you know I'm not being lazy.
At the moment I've been running through several fortresses trying to make magical weapons.
My most recent fortress, Crystalyears, is in its 4 year, I think, and was close to being able to make some, possessing a great deal of celestrium, and steel, but lacking only flux.
Last night a Bane Dragon arrived.

This caused quite the shitstorm as it flew around the outside area, smashing civilians and soldiers alike across the map, landing to set fire to god damn everything and everyone, and shrugging off bolts with impunity.
It took out an Avar and a Dwarven Caravan in its insane rampage, before one lucky shot from a marksdwarf (with a fricking wooden bolt) managed to pierce its lungs. The Dragon was quite distressed by this and although that marksdwarf survived a pointblank dragonfire blast, he was then smashed across the map, over a lake, by the enraged dragon, which was wielding a steel boot.
My marksdwarf's colleague, a wrestler using a steel spear for the first time ever, managed to plunge the spear into the dragons heart before the dragon beat him to death.

The dragon then proceeded to enter my fortress, and got into the main corridor where it killed a whole load of people before it finally succumbed to its mortal wounds.
It didn't stop there, though, as the bodies piled up and rotted outside, the 60-odd survivors started to go nuts, trying to murder each other. I barely managed to hold it together as I quickly drafted a military dwarf to perform JUSTICE on disorderly dwarves.
From what I can tell, I should still be able to make this fortress work, provided I don't get anything as fierce as a dragon in the near future. I have several years left to make up, which still gives me time to try another fortress to make magic weapons if need be.

Sounds like that fortress needed Wee Ironblood, son to the Cap'n.  He may only be 1 year old, but he's an Ironblood.

And if the marksdwarf survived you should have named him Bard.  After all, piercing a dragon in the lung with a wooden arrow and dying near a lake...clearly your game is circled with bands of Tolkeinism.

And one last thing: My favorite part of this whole thread:
Ironblood's internal organs were pierced by a steel bolt.  They are bruised.

I hope my reborn General can attain this level of badassness.
