If the idea of "ownership" is a foreign concept to kobolds (as Armok explained in the Fortress Mode: The RPG thread), why do they travel all that way to steal a ring?

It would only have been better if the Kobold exploded into chunks...

Captain's Log. 14th of Sandstone.
I had a meeting with Bomrek today, a bit of an informal catch up chat.
We found ourselves talking about the recent Kobold intrusion.
She brought up the popular belief that the concept of ownership is alien to Kobolds, and that this is why they take anything they need from others.

I refuted this mad statement, countering with the question "If its so alien to them, why do they try to sneak in, past our guards and traps, take valuable items, and then sneak out again? And why would they come here, if they didn't know about our amazing craftwork, and want to nick it?"

She admitted there were deep flaws in the popular belief.

In regards to other matters, the external sections of the fort are coming together nicely. I suspect a major section of the foundations will be done in the coming year.

And if they took what they needed, they'd probably grab a lot more food and a lot less artifacts.

Oh man, my artifact wasn't very notable at all. You'd think an artist such as himself would do something a little more pretentious. Like a artifact urinal or something.

This thread is beyond epic.  Laughing out loud isn't something I often do, and certainly not at 4AM, but here I am, my face aching from abuse.

Anyway; I assume the waitlist is flooded, and yeah, immigration is an issue, but still - if you think there's any point to it, feel free to add Grimhild the female wrestler.  Too few proper meleers here.  Jez' point me attem, oke?

Wow, I think I can remember a while back before I had an account reading this topic when it was only four pages, heh, now it's massive.

This is the sort of fort I've always tried to create, alas, however, my computer's graphic card can only process 10 fps, making it a slooooow game.

I'm guessing that there is a huge wait, but I'm a patient person, so I'll wait, if possible, i'd like to volunteer for the military, a speardwarf, male preferably, if not, anything will do.

Thanks.

We'll see how we go with getting more migrants.

While I'm not currently willing to post a screen update on the map wiki, I'll do so in the near future.
Reason for this is that while the fortress looks semi-imposing at the current state of completion, it's only a short while away from looking extremely impressive.
I want you to imagine a 14 floor empty space, approximately 20x20, walls carefully constructed solely from Gabbro blocks.
On top, a fort made solely of marble blocks.

Captain Mayday : keep it going, this is the z-level boatmurdered (or even better) !

The limiting factor is the CPU in all case, concerning Dwarf Fortress. Your graphic card isn't doing anything most of the time.

Nothing will ever come close to boatmurdered. Nothing.

That's because Boatmurdered ended in fire and blood and blatant mismanagement.

Also, as a report, I'm running slow on updates due to the total collapse of my Windows environment. DF data is okay, since I backed it up yesterday.
Had I attempted to back it up today, I would have been screwed.
