Give Toady a break, this new version of his is practically a brand new game so of course there are going to be a few bugs.  But I think mislabeling tiles as outside when they should be subterranean was the result of trying to fix some other bug that caused roofed over tiles to count as subterranean.

Once again I'm posting updates. Please bear with me if the pace is slower than before, as Christmas and other events are consuming my time. As well as, of course, the need to work for money for food.

Captain's Log. 17th of Hematite.
Once more I have been re-elected. It's now 13 years or so since I struck the earth here, and I have been in control ever since.

Our current major projects include construction of the external catapult and archer fortifications, as well as the removal of stone from the great hall.
The latter wouldn't normally be considered as a project, but there is simply so much of it, there's no other word that adequately describes it.

Captain's Log.
Today was a tragic day.

Our ploy to disable the ability for the Noble to kill our compatriots at will has backfired. The Baroness, upset about us not fulfilling some ridiculous mandate or another, sent through a  request to have one of our citizens thrown in prison.
I barely glanced at this, as it has become commonplace.

It wasn't until I was told one of our heroes had been murdered in his bed that I took a second look. I'm told at first he was happy he could not be thrown in prison.

The Baroness sent one of our most powerful fortress guards to beat him.
At least it is now clear where the loyalties of some of the guards lie.

Erib Axestand, you will live on in honoured memory.

Free dwarves is not a problem, given the mortality rate.
There's a bit of a queue though, and we wait on new migrants. Pathfinding is also slowing things down.

Updates are slow at the moment because of:
Holiday
Girlfriend's birthday
Jury Duty
Work
 :(

Wonderful story! I want in! If possible...

Name: Grantyman
Gender:Male
Prof: Something to do with farming, shop owning, or crafting. (Shop owner preferably.)

It's completely fine with me if none of the profs are possible! Sorry if I sound picky. Anyway, GREAT STORY! Keep it up!

Haha. Nice story.

Engraver

Zonhin is an artist. A pretentious, unlikable artist. Almost completely focused on making his art at the expense of his health. Zonhin tends to not make friends easily, or at all. He introduces himself as "Zonhin, the Grand Artist and Beloved Friend of All" to most important people in the fortress, even though he has not created a single engraving in his life.

Probably nothing, as Captain Mayday's last post was just a few days ago.

t this rate, Baron Lorn is going to replace the entire population with his own children since the other dwarves either very rarely pop one out, or have no idea what that thing between their legs are used for besides going to the bathroom and making them f

Ah.
I was a bit impatient, wasn't I? Well sorry, it's pretty late where I am, and I'm not thinking straight.
