Vimes is *THE* man.

Ironbloods pretty damn good himself, I've gotta be honest, its a testiment to this thread that since the decision to wait for the next version, People are still bumping and talking about it.

I've loved the storey but if it wasen't for the fact that I can't F***ing wait for the next version, I'd be biting at the bit by now.

Seriously though next version is shaping up to be pretty fricking sweet!

Can' wait to see the updates rolling in once that kicks into gear!

Edited: Because Im slightly drunk, can't spell or finish a sentence, but not drunk enough to notice I cant spell/finish a sentence!

Great story. Read it all, and can't wait for the next installment

And I'm wondering if I can get a place in the saga somewhere, even as an adventurer companion. Hammerdwarf/hammerman if possible.

Preferred name? Toranos. Male. Prefer to be human or dorf, no pointy ears however.

Well, let me be Bonepicker (or the closest you can get in dwarf/human/whatever language), preferably a special companion who is still expendable. Like some dude you meet in a cave, or an animalman or something.

This is what I think after I was done:

10000000000000 years later...

Wow! Look at all these skorfs!

Ahhh! That is Iron Blood's Skorf!

And he is killing other skorfs! 1000 per punch!

Yay Iron Blood  ! (gets squashed by skele-dorfs)

h, Nessing is cool and all. And Civilization goes from stone to steam punk, but nothin'' beats a good dose of Fanaticialism to Dwarf Fortress and a load of Dwarfen Rum!

So, upon rereading "The Survivors" by Tom Godwin, I realized why Nist Akath seemed so familiar...

Well... it's science fiction rather than fantasy... but other than that it's the DFiest novella I've read.

Killer repeating crossbows - Check
Killer Unicorns - Check
Every Soldier has a coupla war dogs - Check
Noble Pogroms- Check
Plains with quickly evaporating ponds - Check
Children becoming ultra-agile before maturity - Check
Player hasn't read the wiki, and is paying for it - Check
Healthcare bug: Dude refuses to get water for wounded, gets drafted and immediately is severely injured due to sparring - check

The initial population is a little high, so it's pretty obviously a reclaim (IIRC, there was a survey by seven people of the planet, of which five died before they abandoned it.)

Anyway, baen is giving away the book free on their website as part of their samples.  Check it out while we wait to hear more of Ironbeard and his conquest of the known universe.

New version imminent. I wonder if legendary lands mod will work with it?

Already geared for it, actually. I just have to run through things and make sure the preparations I've made will stick.

Good thinking, that. Looking forward to the blood and organs flying all over the place.

Hey, if he does, I'd like to have one of those glitched alligator drunks as a character...

Please?

Or maybe not since the new version seems really buggy...

Well Toady does hard work. He'll update Dwarf Fortress to be less buggy soon. I guess that the dwarfs sleeping forever is the worst part (but you can turn off sleep for them for now, I suppose)
