Fantastic new additions to the story, Cap'n! I like Kodor's style, I am sure he will have an awesome time adventuring. I eagerly await new chapters! And that goblin is still amazing. The world will be saved by that gabbro cabinet.  :D

Wintrow: The swords you used for your crest are the exact ones on the pirate flag hanging up in my room.

In regards to the halfling genesis discussion, they were all smoking pipeweed, of course.

He walked to Kal Berim, and the Captain turned to watch him with interest.

"Behold brother! Kal Berim! The Smiles of Artifice!"

"Yes, I know. I made it."

Kodor faltered. He hadn't known that. "But... do you know what it holds within?"

"Of course!"

"AHA!" Kodor cried, and opened the cabinet. Some crumpets fell out. The whole thing was stuffed full of them.

"Crumpets!" shouted the Captain in glee.

"That's not right!" protested Kodor lamely. This was not what he had been expecting at all.

Wow... just wow. I almost died laughing, and had a heck of a time explaining to my (non DF playing) roommate what was so funny. Just when I didn't think you could top yourself, you do.

Let's hope the new version comes out soon so we can see what happens next!

Slade, I GISed for pirate swords and snowflake for the crest   :)

Its not like I snuck into your room while you slept and took pictures. That would be creepy.

Ps; neat nightlight!

That just works so much better because he's still only an "escaped lunatic"

YAY! Finally read through the entire thread... 4 hours a day for 3 days plus 2 hours today....

<Insert>

Gotta say I love this story, I read then get inspired to play my game, then stop for the day...

I guess I'll get to working on compiling everything into a Rich Text Formatted file to share.

Hope I can get it all done in a few days  :)

I felt inspired enough to mod in crumpets into DF. Not every day can I say that a story has inspired me to mod something.  :o

Are they going to require ten cookable items?

I don't believe that you can actually change to number of items for cooked food. I did change biscut to crumpet in my version of DF though.

Hey, if adventurer mode is still open, I'd like to request a character.<P>Kobold crossbowbald, name of Jreengus.  Hopefully he'll gain a reputation for destruction.

"W-what happened here?"
   "Jreengus."

If there are any continuity issues with him surviving and nobody commenting earlier on... he's a kobold.  They're sneaky.
