Sula: "I'd follow the Captain to Armok's beard and back, I would!"

I only hope my dwarf doesn't go and pick a fight with the Captain!

This is hilarious.  I heartily endorse this thread, probably because it's so different from mine  :).

Haha, I can just imagine Psycho sizing everyone up for a coffin during dinner.

Great story.  I love how it's short and to the point, but still captivating. More!

Specifically we don't use swear words here, and your picture of Stalin riding a Year3 Limited Edition Starflower inside a German concentration camp was both upsetting and historically inaccurate.

most of us are still unarmed.
We rely exclusively on trade and migrants for weaponry.

The reason for this is our incredible lack of wood and coal.
We need more:
Beds, Barrels, Bins, and Coal.
Still, we are all armoured, at least in leather.
And if the goblins invade, we can scavenge what we can from them.

Of the original 7, BurnedToast, Xotes, and the Captain remain.
We have 34 dead dwarves. Some of those were caravan guards. So possibly only 30 citizens.

Captain's Log. 13th of Hematite
The humans have arrived. The wagons from the north, the guild representative from the west.

The representative and his guards were promptly set upon by the antlered menace, and smashed into a bloody pulp.
When I arrived, desperate to help them, only a single guard remained, sitting amid a pile of bones, sobbing relentlessly.

I suggested he come in for a bit to eat, but I don't think he was listening.
While the traders made their way to the fortress trading post, I fought off the antlered menace to protect any further losses.

In further good news, I've just been elected to something like my 5th term as mayor.

Captain's Log. 10th of Malachite.
We had a close call today.
Whilst I was trading at the depot, I sent Exoleet (whom I am told is now something of an amazing marksman), to confront the antlered menace that was disrupting our looting of various corpses.

Exoleet apparently forgot his ammunition, and was forced into the fray. He was brutally stomped on until he could no longer walk.
With the help of his men, however, he survived. Of particular note, I must mention, was Adalore, who pulled two of them off him at once.
Impressive stuff.

Nagash the second was late to the action, and did not even get to see a live undead antlered one. (live?).
He has been put on report.

In other important news, the traders actually had lots and lots of wood. And black bronze bars! Amazing.

Like the elves, however, they brought us caged animals.
Hint, humans! Animals do not do so well in subarctic climates when they are not from them!
I bought the corpses, and the cages. Real bargain prices.

They also brought lots of clothes. In human sizes. I tell the time and time again "These clothes will not fit us, why would we buy them?" But they keep bringing them. Oh well, it's not like I didn't trade them a whole slew of goblin sized armour.
They did have alcohol. And meat. And lots and lots of weapons. We pretty much bought the whole caravan. We offloaded a lot of useless stuff (we like to call them 'trade goods), and received a hell of a lot of resources.

The fortress guard is all legendaries.
The military itself is all over the place
Most of them are pretty good at most stuff, including wrestling.
The team led by Nagash II in Exoleet's recovery period is quite capable of taking care of skeletal elk.
I don't think they would have a chance against the Captain at the moment though.
The only one who would, I think, is the Sheriff.

You had most of your body beaten, even got to red in a few spots.
Now you've only got three yellow wounds on major body areas.
You'll heal up fine soon enough.

uh oh, dead representative = lots of human anger = I hope they don't siege us  :( I don't know if human sieges are broken like goblin sieges, but either way they stop sending the caravans for a while. Also, I don't know if you ever get another rep so we might not be able to order specific things anymore.

what do you have the population capped at? would be really funny if it's high enough and we end up getting the king.
