Telepathicly accuired ending spoiler:

the cabinet is used to lock the god's essence

Also, wouldn't a zombie apocalypse be a moot point, with the vast majority of the dead outside the walls? All the dwarves get to fend off are a few thiefs, the arena goblins and their own dead(and considering most of them rise from the Captain's office, i think their reanimated state will be short lived.

even if this would make an awesome ending, you better PRAY that this is not true
usually I am tolerant towards spoilers, but spoiling Nist Akath would make me rage so much, I would spend years and train the skill to re-materialize my arm into binary, then punch you in the face over a standard internet connection

This wouldn't work, you would have to figure out how to un-binary your arm and how to get it out of the computer.

I just finished reading through The Chronicles of Nist Akath so far and I must say that this is hell of a story. Excellent storytelling there, I can't wait to see how it all ends (if it ever does).

I think it's about time we start telling 'Captain Ironblood' jokes in the vein of the Chuck Norris ones.

Every time someone tell's a Chuck Norris joke, Captain Ironblood roundhouse's a megabeast.

Please, think of the megabeasts.

As the glowing embers of Nist Akath glow in the distance... (Burn down? Nope!)

The horrible combination of stone and flesh will freeze in the.... (massive cave-in? NOPE!)

It turns out the tea supplies were poisoned... Ironblood drank so much that anybody who touched him die instantly form the fatal doses oozing from his skin. This effectively annihilated the entire population... except Ironblood.(Maybeh :P)

As the alien craft descended from the sky, Stray cows began rising through glowing lights... (Alien invasion? LOL! Nope)

I think I will give up and just let you work your magic!

Hooboy, just finished reading this whole thread. I am in complete awe. Particularly, the blizzard obscured view of Nist Akath (what a terrifying profile the hammer tower has), and the Cap bludgeoning the hammerer to death with his cabinet (that he keeps on his person, of course).

Though it does bum me a little bit that the game doesn't sufficiently ramp up the challenge once your dwarves become super legendaries. I assume the army arc will implement more elaborate sieges according to your fortress's notoriety across the world? Armies could bring battering rams, siege engines, maybe form phalanxes, mounted cavalry, etc? Not to mention the possibility of them bringing along ladders to scale walls. It would certainly be more interesting than simply spawning more and more bulked up monsters. Unless...

I don't suppose dragons could conceivably form a flock?

I bet on global warming. All the ice melts and floods the fortress and everyone drowns.

You've already said something along these lines twice and frankly, unless Captain Mayday really doesn't want anykind of feedback for his story posts like these are the only ones disturbing the thread.

That having been said, sorry for this post.   :p

It's okay. I must've been mistaken about the posts.     :)

Yeah. My wording might've been a little confusing there but that's what I was trying to say.

The warriors of Nist Akath are truly amazing. I wonder how many adventurers you'd need to take a single one down?
