No, his idea is good.

The entire map collapses in that case, you see.

hmmm fine if you guys want a successful launch,my idea was for the launch to be unsuccessful because, even though they are dwarves it is just plain inferior technology for actual space travel.

Plus the collapse of a spaceship into the ground would be fun to watch.

What part of THE ENTIRE MAP WILL COLLAPSE don't you understand?

Sheesh, it's as if you've never played the game >_>

Sure, I'll get in on this. So the spaceship is pointing up, or lying down? Will it be constructed of metal? Keep in mind that if it's merely dug out of rock, it will just fall down. If it's Constructed, it will explode into scrap.

I've built a vertical fortress before, so this can work. If you build it on the smallest possible map, on flat ground, they can be 28 levels tall, with room for a support at the bottom.

I imagined it like some sort of spire structure, but it is up to you guys how it is made.
It is also up to the first player to choose the place to embark because of me not playing.(sorry I'm not even jump starting this thing)

Chao is awesome!  :o

What will 'power' the spaceship?

I'm guessing steam, twin tanks of water/magma, that are combined at the bussiness end?
(i'm concerned about preventing clogging the nozzle with the resulting obsidian though)
build it above a chasm to have unexhaustable disposal.
...water will have to be dropped on top of falling magma I guess...
or maybe a detonation-pulse drive with bauxite hatches (+raised grilles for steam) to dump the obsidian.
...wait! Is it at all possible to detain an immortal fire-funstuffer inside the drive-unit? just add water for steam.
Nobody said spacetravel was safe. ;)

Who will play first and who is next etc.?

Steam power? Where we are going, we don't need steam power.

 *Designates some gem windows*

So a red scheme for the weapon cores and a blue tint for the main power source?

I propose we have a mod that allows us to refine Pitchblende into Curselead (just guessing here, but Uranium is dense and handlers always seem to get sick). Our thruster system relies on exposing the curselead to a S.O.F. and boiling it. We may or may not need to import the Pitchblende.

That way, any survivors of blast-off will have to contend with boiling radioactive vapor and the Power Source its self. The reactor core will have to be made of HFS metal, though. I propose a starting location with the magma and HFS, so we will need a mountain area. just make it VERY small.

Works for me. We just need to decide who chooses the spot and goes first.

I'll do it if nobody else wants to. I think we can actually use a vanilla game. We'll have the reactor chamber with Gem Window displays. The core will be made of Adamantine. The rest of the ship out of Steel- you'll probably need to mod to "make" steel, because that ends up being A LOT of bars. Prepare for a decades-long game- construction like this takes a while.

Oh, and I found the best way to import steel is in the form of instruments and crafts, bought out with masterwork rocks.
