Yep!  :D
I'll try to make it balanced, mostly by them being so extremely hard and slow to produce.

((this turn I actually get to use the map, a bit more stuff than usual happens.))
((Hmm, wouldn’t it be fun if people posted their total worldwide population for comparison?))
((I’ll post more later, probably how the Efil-inira gate looks and so.))

Mohayiga+harbour: Metropolis : 142
Eientei: city : 115
Murakami: town : 108
Makai : city : 70
Divine shrine : cloister : 10

Sanae's army: 53 men, 40 trained soldiers, 13 priests

------------------

The group of Tengu diplomat embarks southwards. They send a messenger bird to Murakami to bring Madara the message where to meet them. The Vulpian lord follows them

"Can't agree to my contract ? Impudent little foxes. Let's see if they will still be unable to agree after I am done intimidating them!"
With that, Madara prepares a special outfit and enchants it to enhance the planned effect.

-------------

"My lady, clam down!"

" I can't calm down. These impudent dwarves let me wait in front of their doors for months, and now I come back AND MY FAVOURITE BONSAI TREE HAS WITHERED !
We will kill them all, every single one of these tiny bearded bastards!."

And so it came that the usualy calm and peaceful Sanae, in a fit of rage marched northwards towards the Drogar settlements.
---------------------

((And now to the important part for now. How the Tengu magic works. I have no official word from Jamini, but since the Vulpians only have three hauchiwa fans, I will simply assume that I will train three of them))

The three soon-to-be master of the sky were waiting for their new master to meet them at the edge of the forest, as they were appointed to. The leaves had already colored brown and red and the sweet smell of the overly ripe fruits hung in the air. The sage was late, and soon the aprentices were chatting idly. Until they were interupted by a sudden boom of sound. Out of seemingly nowhere, the magician produced himself out of thin air like it was a curtain.
Applause from all sides.

"I am Tomoe, and I will be your teacher, my tiny little friends. There are four levels of magic in the Tengu world. The first is needed to use these fans you are holding in your hands properly. It's common knowledge amongst the tengu on how to use this low level magic. The second level is used to enchant objects and fpr basic attack and defence magic. You can make objects extremely light or extremely heavy, or turn them into a channel of energy, like the hauchiwa. You will be able to create walls of air and cut through your enemies with a powerful vacuum. The third level of magic, which you will not leran is the ability to fly. The forth is so powerful, I will not even begin so summarize it to you.
Now please, swing your fans and blow away the leaves on the ground."

The three recruits swing their arms hastily, hardly even producing any wind.

"This, is how you do it."

Without any moment of hesitation or concentration, the priest barely flicked his wrist, aiming at the treeline. A powerful blow of air completely ripped out all remaining leaves.

"Air, is substance. The space around you is not empty. With every breath, air gets into your lungs. This space inside your body, through the small holes in your face connects you to the endlessness of the sky itself. Air is the medium we all move in. An just as air moves us, we move air. Air has resistance. Take a few steps. With every step, you can feel the air brushing against your body. Feel the sky. Even if you are not moving, the air has pressure. See the air. See it in front of you. Imagine water, if you like. Once, before the godess ripped apart the fabric of matter, air and water where the same substance.
And now, move the air. Don't move the fan, don't move your arm, move the air. Shove it away. Splash it at your target like water. Imagine what you want it to do, imagine how it hits your enemy, imagine the invisible mass of air aroun you and push it away.
The Tengu is raised with that knowledge, for us, it comes natural. We never ever think of a space as empty. It might take a while, but once you realise that air is a substance, you will be able to contrle it."

(( The Tengu magic is of spiritual nature, the !!elves!! would never be able to even grasp the concept. Also,a s will be explained once we get to level 2, plants are needed to channel wind energy. Good luck enchanting a fan without reducing it to ashes. Also, there is a reason why I have only offered 2 levels of earth magic for the trade, eventhough 4 level exist. The aspects of the levels are near identical. Flight is a permanent enchantment of the body. However, as a gift from Suwako, the Tengu are granted that from birth on. The stone equivalent is something, you will only see very rarely among the Tengu, and as of now, only Madara is granted that ability (which I will not further describe anytime soon) ))

((Exactly. Also the !!elves!! are not really capable of learning any direct magic they do not already have inherent, most likely they will have to build indirect machines to use magic somehow, or not be able to use it at all. But THEY don't know that, they would probably be so incapable of grasping the subject they'd assume it was something else, and think the one trying to teach then just were mocking them. :D ))

((I really like your ideas Armok, but lets not make them invincible units, please? it would ruin the fun for everyone if we overdo it. But if we find a way to make them STRONG but not UNBEATABLE STRONG, it would be REALLY cool  :D

About soulforging, I currently have only Orion Primus, who is the leader of the civ (and also the hero) that can be considered worthy of such an upgrade, but I doubt he could manage to roam the world while still managing to run the civ... But you can start working on the bodies, the soulforging will probably be the shortest and last step, taking only 1 or 2 turns, while the body researching and construction would take more that a dozen. And soulforging souls into basic golems is not a problem, because golems have a weird sense for 'holy' things, they consider Soulforging one of their holiest rituals, yet if the soul being soulforged accepts the body it is being transfered to, the soul will be transfered no matter what the body might be, wether it is the ultimate titanium colossal battle golem or a rotten melon.

Also, I am going to start digging south of Nova (the city directly north of your tower), you should probably start digging from there too to connect the whole thing.

Finally, I couldn't just wait idly until forum starts to be upgraded tomorrow, so I'm going to post the formal agreement the Golems want to be settled: ))

The Golems request the following (these are not demands, just polite requests):
-A piece treaty pledging none of the two races will attempt any harm on the other race, wether directly through war or indirectly through supplying the enemy of one of the nations with any help.
-An Alliance that dictates that if one of the two civilization declares war on an enemy, the second civilization will enter war against that same enemy.
-Establishing permanent embassies in each race's capitol, that has at all times atleast one representative of the other race in them.
-Establishment of a mixed council of Golems and !!elves!!, composed of the greatest leaders of each of the two races, that governs the two races as a whole (this will probably have to wait for later, and also its only if you want us to almost completely unite both races)
-Continuation of the communications between the two towers of both races.
-The establishment of a tunnel between Efil-inira and Nova.
-Golems are facinated by any kind of art, including musical art, but are not very well in creating such arts themselves. Thus, they would accept to trade metals, gems, and all kinds of mechanical components and glassware in exchange for artisanal items and bards/musicians who would come visit their cities. (we could consider this as happening between civilians withought us having to describe everything that happens)
-Golems would appreciate any help at finding golem tombs, as that would also help the !!elves!! since many of the more experienced and heroic golems of past ages are yet to be found (this could mean sending an expedition to other races or atleast farther than the current !!elven!! and golem settlements.
-Finally, the golems have a great love for knowledge and discovery. Thus, golems propose the creation of a great building, or even a whole settlement, which would act as the hub between both races. The aforementioned council, if created, could be based here, and it would be a place were golems and !!elves!! meet to discuss matters and share knowledge ect... but most importantly, that settlement would contain a library were all knowledge ever imagined would begin to be amassed, not just !!elven!! and golem knowledge, but all knowledge both races manage to get from all te world.

((feel free to refuse or offer another proposal for any of these points, the council and library projects are extremely long-term ones, and I think you might not like them too much...))

The Golems offer:
-As many low-ranking golems as are required by the !!elves!! for their experiments.
-Great souls of heroes ounce such heroes are found and are willing to be soulforged into bodies made by the !!elves!!
-Help by all golem specializations (alchemists, runemasters, engineers, miners, smiths, glassmakers...) for anything the !!elves!! need, as well as keeping atleast a few specialists in the embassy sent to the !!elves!! at all times.
-Help for all soulforging and golem-technology related questions and expertise.
-Accepting to form a mercinary group as specified by the !!elves!!, although their precise missions (wether they are superheroes or whatever) shall be discussed ounce the project is atleast almost completed

((propose anything else you might want from the golems, I couldn't think of anything more))

Thus is the agreement offered by the Golems of Al'Qwat to the !!Elves!!. It is their choice wether to accept or to refuse, but if their acceptance is confirmed, let all know that this will be the beginning of a Grand Alliance, one who will not fear any exterior threats, one who will live by its principles no matter what, one alliance united against all else.

((All that's left is to find a name for the agreement, and a name for the alliance. Propose any if you can, and also feel free to change and add to the agreement as you wish))

Does anyone have any thoughts on my ideas for the coming attacks against absent players?

OOC: Well, as for the part about civs i find it very much agreeable and only logical since in a world where multitude of races reside it shouldnt be impossible for refugees to find friendly races. Even storm giants would accept refugees, provided that they fight in their armies, work in their works, and overall serve them in all possible ways. That might not be the case if the refugee is a great warrior or leader.

As for the Koneko, well, i dont really care. As long as the battle is good one im happy. That is, if Akroma decides to take on the Koneko.

And for the terrain passability, i think ill let Jamini decide that.

((Strife, if you feel like playing for the Koneko, go ahead. I don't think anyone is going to claim them anytime soon. And I wholeheartedly agree with what you said about refugees.

Now my turn.))

Shel relaxed as he drank his cup of blood. He was looking westwards through his telescope. During the year he had spent many evenings watching the silent blinking far away. Once again he stared at it, his imagination running wild with hypotheses on the source of the lights.

He had conferred with the greatest sages of the Mindpillar, but none had been able to put a meaning to the blinking. The flashes seemed irregular enough to be created by nature, but their meaning and their destination remained unknown.

Shel knew he only had to wait a little longer. After all his brother Thlash was soon going to arrive to the flame pillar location. His second objective, as he was told on the way there, was to carefully investigate the origin of the lights. Yet it could be a trap...

Something Shel was quite happy about was the recent letter he had received. He has been granted a title : Hesh'a'Hath, Duke of the Shield. It was only a just reward for constructing such a magnificent citadel. It could protect a large population. And the tunnels underneath had been heavily reinforced against earthquakes.

as I already said, the koneko will have to wait. However, the drogar will pay for daring to let sanae wait and thus keep her from watering her bonsai trees

BTW: With the custom map generator, and the BOTG mod, how about we take a look at how this world should end ?

oh and Armok. I already protested against Nhipanters overpowered units, and I am only accepting it because it is somewhat cool.
your army of invulnerable uber-robots is just ridiculously overpowered.
I am not allowing you this. You can have ONE of them, and not more. All feasible strategies against an army over laser shooting, bomb dropping metal-bodies that can't be suffocated, drowned, poisoned, bleed or be damaged by anything other than a meteor (or in case of that turtle - nothing) is the good old D&D classic:
Rocks fall, all die.

I am not fighting against such an army, nor will I submit to them, nor will I allow you to fight against anyone with that, because quite simply, they too, will have to resort to "rocks fall, all die" tactics.
Gamebreaking
Boring

There is a reason why the supertech humans are only refered to in history and not part of the game. Also, building such creatures is against the very nature of the !!elves!! (which are, as you said, just like normal elves, but on fire)

((I agree with Akroma's idea of the mod+cutom world generator! I actually just posted a new discussion topic about worlds based on stories and RPs on the general discussion board, how about you wright the idea there?   :D))
((also, I'm sure we can work out something with the golems that is not nigh-unbeatable... yeah, they are over-powered, but that can be fixed))

((These ideas are to awesome to be skipped, I will find a way to make it balanced, maybe asimov laws so they cant kill if that's the only way.))

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In response to Poltifar:
((They are not really invincible, just look up the material properties of tungsten or titanium on wikipedia. The coconut one is near indestructible (not magically or plot wise, just realistically for being a tungsten bowling ball) whit the current magic and tech, the only thing on the board that could harm those I think is Itens dagger, but those are not that powerful in battle otherwise. I'd guess a perfect hit by a really powerful blow by the hammer of those 10m storm giants could at least disable most of the others.))
((I knew it would WORK, I just wondered if doing the sacred ceremony twice whit an intermediate training body once would be considered unethical.))
((don't begin digging, the !!elves!! are much better at that, see later part on how/were I'll dig to you.))

I think an clarification might be needed:
Efil-inira and Ariquemera are independent city-states, they just are allies and trade. Ariquemera is the one that is technically advanced and the one the golems have been in contact whit. Ariquemera is basically controlled supremely by Ilecaaye but he doesn't use that power very much and never misuse it, mostly because e isn't interested in politics most of the time.

quote:
-A piece treaty pledging none of the two races will attempt any harm on the other race, wether directly through war or indirectly through supplying the enemy of one of the nations with any help.
-An Alliance that dictates that if one of the two civilization declares war on an enemy, the second civilization will enter war against that same enemy. -Establishing permanent embassies in each race's capitol, that has at all times atleast one representative of the other race in them.
-Continuation of the communications between the two towers of both races.

These points are immediately and gladly accepted.

quote:
-Establishment of a mixed council of Golems and !!elves!!, composed of the greatest leaders of each of the two races, that governs the two races as a whole (this will probably have to wait for later, and also its only if you want us to almost completely unite both races)
-The establishment of a tunnel between Efil-inira and Nova.
-Finally, the golems have a great love for knowledge and discovery. Thus, golems propose the creation of a great building, or even a whole settlement, which would act as the hub between both races. The aforementioned council, if created, could be based here, and it would be a place were golems and !!elves!! meet to discuss matters and share knowledge ect... but most importantly, that settlement would contain a library were all knowledge ever imagined would begin to be amassed, not just !!elven!! and golem knowledge, but all knowledge both races manage to get from all teh world.
-Accepting to form a mercinary group as specified by the !!elves!!, although their precise missions (wether they are superheroes or whatever) shall be discussed ounce the project is at least almost completed

The mixed council and  "mercenary group" would be one and the same. Several regions could have their own rulers and laws but the Council of Guardians (Yay, I came up whit a name!) would make sure treaties and and such were kept and ensure peace. Being superwarriors would make sure they could always do that and beat down rebellion, and helpfully avoid such thing in the first place by inspiring respect. The settup has some similarities whit the rule of the dragon riders on the of chance you have read Eragon.
This means the souls must not only be brave warriors, but also great leaders and moral heroes.
For practical reasons this means the group must be of mostly golems, however they would be trained largely by !!elves!! and be of elven make. Hopefully this would mean they would not see themselves as belonging to any of the two races but to both.
A settler group of 20 elves have already set out to dig a tunnel and found a settlement in the mountain right next to your south-easternmost settlement, they will most likely grow together creating a mixed city. The city the elves are founding will be called Mindgates. (this stands for gate between the two peoples and their minds, but also not the reference to logic gates.)
I have an brilliant idea about the great library: Let it be a huge and wonderus computer, the information stored in digital from! This computer will then be given a soul like a golem! Lets at Mindgates build Eliyeecate!
