ColonelTee3: Arr, ye be the first mate then!
Kagus: Sorry, you didn't specify and I knew we were going to run out of males first so I thought I would ask, I appreciate it =) Also, sorry about the name thing, I've fixed it. Did I mention I've been swilling grog? =)
Skooma:
Quite a while actually, I started it on the 26th of last month, and 6 years have passed in game.
The longest part of the construction was the top deck, because the surface area is just huge, and I kept running out of wood and needing to wait for trees to grow. It would've gone a lot smoother if I didn't have to sever a large aquifer off during construction. I have a few renders of it in 3d dwarf saved during construction before the dry dock was filled if anyone is interested in seeing them.
Also, that pillar ... it's surrounded by water at the bottom of the dry dock ... as much as I would love to back the save up and do that, I don't even think I can ... It would be an epic collapse though, to be sure.
I did, during construction, nearly have that happen though, the boat was held up by a temporary bridge, and the guy constructing the crows nest fell, and the wall he was deconstructing shattered and him and the wood logs punctured the deck, fell a total of about 12 Z levels down through 4 decks and into the dry dock, leaving only ONE single tile barely connecting the whole ship. =o It was interesting to find out that falling blocks will destroy workshops too, and KEEP falling!
JoRo: Ok man, if I make you a female, it will even things out a bit, so if you don't mind I'll sign you up as that. I'll make sure it's a manly female =)
