Not idea, that's really the way it is.  I just happen to remember weird bits of info from greek mythology.

It's nice to see such an original mod. One thing though: There was only ever one Pegasus. It was the name of a horse, not a species. Well, now that I think of it, there's no reason why it couldn't be. Nevermind! carry on!

He's not the first one to create a Pegasus "race".  A lot of folks have used that name instead of "winged horse" since it's popular mythology, so almost everyone knows the name.  Even if they don't know the actual story.


EDIT:  Just thought about something.  I daresay that story was the first record of someone being killed by a thrown fly.  Greeks prophesied Dwarf Fortress!

I know it's technically the name of one horse, but 'winged horse' doesn't sound good to me. Pegasii sounds much more pleasant.

speaking of flying things, I've now got imps and animated scimitars of iron, steel, and adamantine.
Can someone confirm that creature material does not affect toughness, damageblock, or damage caused?

Material only affects the temperature values.  It says so somewhere in file_changes.txt IIRC.
