So... I'm overflowing with ideas but short on time to try them.  This thread is just a collection of concepts that will hopefully jump-start anyone into action.

Here goes my first set of contributions:

1.  Deepgate.  Based on a book by Alan Campbell.  It's about a city suspended over a seemingly bottomless pit supported by massive chains.  An interesting practice of Deepgate is that all the dead are "buried" in the pit.  Leaving the bottom of the pit a gigantic pile of bones and rotting flesh.

2.  Center of the Earth.  A single winding passage that leads to an enormous cavern where the city is located, everything is self sufficient.

3.  Above ground dwarves.  No living underground.  Everything is built just like a human town.  Bonus points for a harbor or other interesting feature.

4.  The Militant dwarves.  A true fortress, only the bare essentials for food and lodging, everyone else is in the military.  Cage traps can also be used to provide "sport" for these carnage loving dwarves.   Bonus:  NO crossbows...

5.  .....ELF fortress.....  I'm reluctant to try it..BUT.  A tower made of wood/mudstone and green glass built to resemble a giant tree.  Everyone lives inside this.  Bonus:  Only crossbows AND no butchering.

Probably meant Community Games/Stories instead of Suggestions.  In any case, this probably fits here...  or there...  we don't really have a standard yet.  We could encourage actual games and stories for that board and ideas for them here, if we want the other board to just be a collection of threads you can sit down and read.

Icecrown Citadel, DF Edition.

Find a permafrost place with an aquifier, pump it into a mold aboveground and then deconstruct the roofs, freezing it. Carve your fortress out of it. Bones points for undead areas.

Using custom reactions, build your fortress out of bone blocks.

The Pit. Mine the entire area of the map down to the bottom Z-level, with a small 3-wide path around the edge and a ramp going down for caravans. All buildings must be at the bottom of this pit, which will be built like an aboveground-town at the bottom. The nobles will live in lixury while the rest will have tiny rooms and pathetic lives.

Bonus points for having the nobles live in huge monumental towers and mansions. Also, blood-temple for sacrificing goblins. No goblins available? Sacrifice dwarves.

[PTTG??]

-Stranded Actors: all starting dwarves have only social skills.
-Biodome: After population reaches 20 dwarves, seal up the entrance.
