Brage's Tileset
« on: January 13, 2008, 01:00:00 am »

Ta da!

I feel sort of bad slapping my name on this thing since all I did was cobble some other character sets together then edit a few things for preference (well, and fix some pixel errors in Tahin's walls), but I am rather proud of the outcome.  None of the normal letters are replaced, so text is all readable.  The only time an image appears in place of text is a few of the special characters that sometimes appear in names (Things with umlauts, etc).

Anyway, credit where credit is due:
Guybrush for Dystopian Rhetoric tileset (Especially the Gears)
Tahin for the Angled walls (That idea was genious on his part)
Redjack01 for the sprite tileset

Edit: Fixed the two wall tiles that were off by 2 pixels

Oh, a single thing about using it in Fortress mode, if you want it to look pretty, dont build up/down stairs, make seperate up and down stairways, otherwise the nice tiles are replaced with a big fat X.

yeah, its a square 16x16 tileset, I cant stand 3/3 rooms that look stretched out.

Also of note on what it is'nt good for, over world maps, unless you really like green pots and stuff in your forests, so i suggest somthing else when exporting the world map. And if you use the numbers to show water levels in game, you should probably change the water tile to something more... sandy.

Hey, those are my corners! Hehe. You fixed 'em, eh? I might have to update my "simple" one, soon, as those corners not lining up kind of bugs me.

Oh, and the idea wasn't mine. Someone posted a thread about the possibility of diagonal walls, and someone else posted a mockup of how it could be done. I just stole the idea.

Turns out it isnt quite fixed.  The tiles where the smoothed wall matches up to an unsmoothed one dont look right, I will fix this as soon as apathy leaves me.

Doesn't really need to - he credited my tileset, and I credited the Zelda game. He may even have been unaware that some of them were rips.

(PS. My set is not included with the others yet because I am not done with it.)

Looks good but the bushes looks to big for me since all small plants will look like big bushes. Other then that good work.

Whoops, missed that. If you generate a world using the language mod on my wiki user page, you won't need to worry about accented letters cropping up in names.

Looks a lot like dragon warrior 1 for the nes. Good stuff, I'll need this for my dragon warrior mod =P.

When it uses the spinning line with multiple things on one tile, it will flash those boots, I presume.
