so does this fine (dare i say, "pimp"?) utility support the latest version?  39e?  are there any known bugs?  the DC thread sounds like some of the other DC features were acting spotty in 38c.

i would be really happy to have this utility working again, as its really easy for me to draw layouts with circles and things in PAINT or whatever, and kind of a pain in the ass to designate them by hand in fortress mode.

also, its just really pimp to watch those fractal layouts draw themselves.

Any chance of making it into a standalone .exe??? I dont really want to get python to run DC

Python doesn't even work on my laptop, not even the "just f***ing run it" exe doesn't install a working Python.

I'm a bit surprised someone doesn't make it use a bitmap instead of CSV with different colors representing different things.

Thanks for this very nice utility. However, please don't drop your old Autohotkey macro: Dwarf Companion just broke again (got it working under 39e, now it doesn't work with 39f), and autohotkey has the advantage of not breaking. Maybe you could keep a link/description of it in the thread for this utility.

A very nice improvement for the old macro would be a tool that reads the .csv file and generates a macro that optimizes the number of keypresses needed to designate the digging area. Right now if I'm not mistaken each square is designated one by one, even though a large room can be don by pressing enter, moving to the other corner, and pressing enter again.

Unfortunately, the tile editing capabilities of the latest version of Dwarf Companion have been broken, probably due to memory address shifts.  :( I have not been able to get the tool to work with the latest version (40d). I recommend trying the original version; it should still work. (the link in the OP is fixed). I am working on a version that combines some of the features of 2.0 (image processing, easier pattern selection, DF not needing to be active window) with the version-independence of AHK.

wow, that would be awesome.  Really looking forward to taking advantage of the image recognition feature.
