Any chance of getting Swamp Dragons especially if they were trainable (although you might have to skip on the exploding suddenly)

Random fellow requesting a few minor creature additions:
1. Platypi.
2. Platypimen, preferably playable.
3. Giant Platypi, which are either trainable and/or cattle equivilents.
4. Miniture Platypi -- probably a cat equivilent, so folks can make them pets.
5. Platypus Demon. A firebreathing Giant Platypus, probably with exaggerated poison spurs or something.
6. Flying Platypi. Platypi with wings. Possibly a giant variaty akin to Giant Eagles, just poisonous or something.

A mod that stirs more randomness into the mineral placement during world generation. It's near impossible to get a map with both iron ores and flux along with magma. Old version, you were guaranteed some of everything except the super-gems... new version, there's so much more space to mine out on even the smallest maps, and so much less variety of things to mine on any given map.

This is kind of alleviated by being able to import some stuff by trades, but with trade liaisons still kinda glitchy... I'd just prefer to mine it myself and save the trouble.

Anyone willing to dig deep in the matgloss_stone_* files?

bone and shell weapons and armor would be a nice option for primitive style dwarves.

Actually, it wouldn't be that difficult. Just putting stone any ( or whatever it is, look under tetraheydrite ) under the minerals you want to appear anywhere would work.

FYI, I'm pretty sure all temperature settings (BOILING_POINT, IGNITE_POINT, HEATDAM_POINT, SPECHEAT, etc) are overridden by STANDARD_FLESH.  That is, you can explicitly state any of those before or after STANDARD_FLESH and the STANDARD_FLESH values will still take precedence.

This should work, although it's an edit of the glacier man from creature_standard.txt. I'd suggest you replace him.

I've been interested in seeing a Rock Flayer (from WoW) in DF, mostly because I'm wondering how absurdly lethal something with 6 arms ending in scythe-claw-things would end up being.

(Yes, there's three arms on each side. The two large ones and then a smaller, nearly vestigial arm in between the larger arms)
