Underdark Project?

I considered doing this for the old version, but I'm lazy, and gave up after about five hours.

So, if we can get a team together, we could make the Underdark in Dwarf Fortress! With Duergar, Drow, primal humans, etc.

Anyone up for it?

(Check up on DnD if you don't know what Underdark is.)

That's all we need to make those damn things even MORE deadly... drow shooting at you while you're stuck in the webs! Might as well just pit the poor dwarves up against Lloth herself.

I like this. What would the players be able to play as? Duergar? Drow? Dwarves? All of the above?

Probably all of them.

I was planning on doing a complete conversion, with Deep Dragons, all new trees etc.

Hence why I need a team for it. >.<

I have no idea what to do with bodies. =p

Should add in driders as a playable race. So how would I go about adding a new race? I haven't done it in a long time.

This mod would require a subterranean world map, and all that implies... instead of open land - a series of vast caverns connected by a network of tunnels, chasms, rivers, smaller caves, and tower-cap forests.

I'd avoid having anything other than Duergar or Deep Gnomes as playable races, unless you mean as adventurers. The other races aren't exactly inclined towards mining, and it wouldn't fit with the concept to change them into dwarf-alikes.

Not even Drow? They're not exactly dwarf-alikes, but I would imagine that they're as competent as dwarves with underground construction and such, if not better.

Definitely not Drow - not only are they the Enemy, but their mining consists of slaves and magic.

Although if the Multiracial fortress mod get working, the slave miner thing might be interesting.
