How do you use this mod?

This is how I play Dwarf Fortress!
I use pieces of it
I use it for modding examples
I don't, I was just curious

There's no set graphics for it...

Actually there is: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=1119 and somebody has got it working I think otherwise there would be complaints from everyone who downloaded this mod and uses tile-sets.

You could try re-saving it to 24 bit using a graphics program or copy and paste the graphics on a new canvas(that solved mine for some reason).

Sorry for the noobish question but...eh...how do you do either of those things?
 ???
I have absolutely no (none at all :-[) experience in the field of sprite graphics, neither making or modifying.
Thanks in advance!

[For saving as 24 bit]
First: Use a graphics program(MS paint will do) to open a graphics set.
Second: Save it as 24-bit bitmap.
           END

[For pasting]
First: Have a graphics program open.
Second: Click the icon with the dotted line square.
Third: Drag the box over the picture to be copied in a 16 by 16 pixel box.
Forth: Right click and select copy.
Fifth: Open a new canvas.
Sixth: Right click, paste, and drag it to the upper left corner.
Seventh: Repeat while placing each in 16 by 16 spaces in any order if you know how to work with the graphics text, if not just place them in the order similar to the original. Remember to give each picture its own 16:16 space.
                 END

I need to add instructions to the readme on how to work the graphics text for next release.

That seems to work  :D

By the way, do jawas show up in group to steal things?
My FPS dropped sharply at one point so I looked in the errorlog.
300 pages of
path fail: jawa,0,47,15 -> 93,95,14: Id #4691:Path Goal Mischief:Station Invalid at 0,47,15
path fail: jawa,0,47,15 -> 93,95,14: Id #4691:Path Goal Mischief:Station Invalid at 0,47,15

At the time there was no way into the fortress, due to attack by skeletal giant leopards (terrifying desert) the entrance bridge had been raised.

Sometimes you'll get more then one thief at a time, yes. Although that's not unique to Jawas.

Oh man, I hope this is kept up when the new version eventually comes out with all the changes. Especially Civ Forge: Unleashed. I can only imagine what sort of goodies will come of this.

Hehe. As a matter of fact, I've already got plans for the next version.

And I'll make sure that there is an Unleashed version as well.

Figured out what's wrong with the custom creature graphics.
They're spaced wrongly. All you have to do to fix it is crop the bottom 1/2 cm or so (from the feet of the last graphics to bottom of image) and add it to the top.

Or just use the 'dotted line square' (I haven't got a better name for it either) to select the entire thing, move it down a 1/2cm then fill the space now at the top so it's the same background colour as the rest of it.
Should look like this
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Still no clue what's wrong with the race graphics though ???

EDIT:
For what its worth I had similar artifacts with the graphics (less static, more purple), but only for the hobgoblins--everyone else was fine.  So maybe its some sort of subtle file corruption and you could try redownloading?
I got that too :P try re-colouring the background. Should fix it for the most part.

Any idea why I can't cut the Ward Crystals I just dug out?  I found a patch of three Ward Crystals, dug them out, they're now sitting in a bin in my gem stockpile, but they're not showing up in my Jeweler's Workshop.  Other CF gems, like melanites, show up no problem.

Ok, I just noticed my newly dug out emeralds can't be cut either.  Odd.

Hmmm....odd. I know I've gut Ward Crystals before, so it's not part of the item itself. Are any of those gems tasked for anything when you look at them?

After firing up my game again after posting in this thread, I found I can now cut the Ward Crystals no problem.  Emeralds too.  Making Ward Iron, not a hitch.

How very odd.

Thanks for the help, anyway, I'm guessing it's not purely a CF problem.
