It varies. But I usually get at least one ambush every season. I've had INSANE seasons though, with ambushes or sieges from all of the hostile races one after another. That was a brutal summer...

I see you are trying to get someone to do the graphics...
this mod will be extremely good if someone makes them...
for now I will play with extra goblin races for more sieges...
I'm the kind of guy that prefers to actually see what the thing is like in real life... and because it is easier...

Another question.
Are there any new stones in your mod that are resistant (like bauxite) to magma? I'm in a bit stuck in one of my fortresses and I need some magma proof mechanisms.

Cool.

@A_Fey_Dwarf: Hmm...no, I don't. Maybe I should add in something that can show up in the Igneous extrusive layers.

Hey,
I've been playing DF a long time and have only recently tried out any mods. I really like a lot of the content you've added. I play with graphics on and have been slowly adding thing as they wander on to maps I've played. I didn't read back in to the thread to see how much progress anyone has made with providing them... I'm playing with Sphr's dwarf tiles, and I'm not sure who did them but several animals in a similar style (shaded with dark outlines). If there's interest, I can find a way to provide what I've got so far; I made a single tile for each new race except for High Elves / Chaos Dwarves, which I changed some color values of my dwarf and elf sets for. I've done a bunch of the domestic animals, most of the insects, and a good number of the tundra and temperate ones. Here's a preview of the races, quadruple-sized:

(I especially like the Jawas)
Let me know if you're interested!
Oh, and thanks for the cool mod.

Well, you're the first person to do any graphics for CF that I'm aware of. Why don't you put them up on DFFD? I'm sure there are people using the mod who'd like to use them too. I've had at least two people in the past ask for graphics.

And I agree, the jawas came out great!

Not sure if your gonna answer this but...

What exactly are Guardians? How do they show up?
I have a diorite guardian that just appeared out of nowhere and is tame.

Has this already been answered?

Don't know if it's been answered specifically, although the description is on the wiki page (see first post).

Anyway, Guardians are basically dwarven Golems. They can be gotten from the mountainhomes, either from the traders or as pets of your migrants (which is where yours came from). They're pretty good defenders, able to take on a single enemy pretty well. They get mulched pretty fast by entire groups, but can hold them off long enough for the dwarf to get away, usually.

Felsite guardians are the basic ones. Diorite guardians are tougher, and Obsidian guardians can dish out more damage.

I just checked out the graphics, and they look pretty good so far!
I stopped playing Dwarf Fortress for a while (other games...  :( ) but I think when the grapghics are finished I might start playing dwarf fortress again just for this mod... instead of waiting for the new version.

Good Luck!
