Creature Healing
« on: May 02, 2008, 10:49:00 pm »

Hi, I'm starting to create my first custom creature, and I have a question. Creatures like the Bronze Colossus are supposed to heal very fast (I've never fought one), so how do I make creatures heal that fast(or faster).

Also, how "Immortal" would this make them, can they heal ANY injury, or are there unhealable ones?

Also, How do you make them live forever/not die of old age/immortal?

Thanks

Remove MAXAGE tag and they'll never die.
I haven't messed with creature modding enough to know the other stuff, sorry.

They'll never die of old age.  You can still severely hinder their ability to live by chopping off the head.  Or a few limbs...  Or cutting out the heart...

The bronze colossus megabeast seems to heal rather rapidly, but I haven't found what causes that.  Also, creatures cannot heal removed bodyparts.  No octopods or tail-growing lizards for this game, no sir.

Well here is what jumps out at me...

Hes got:
[GENPOWER:5](probably has nothing to do with it)
lots of [NO(insert disadvantage here)] tags.
A damblock of 8 [DAMBLOCK:8]
And most interestingly...
[MATERIAL:METAL:BRONZE]

I think that material tag might be our culprit, someone should test that.

Does the werewolf also regenerate? The wiki says so, but I've never seen one yet, and I don't see anything odd in them.

I don't think they live long enough to test something like that.

Ok, I'm trying to do some testing on this, but can someone tell me how the colossus's healing works? which wounds do they heal, and which wounds are healed by everyone? How fast? light gray? dark gray? yellow? red? ...
Thanks

It might just be a property megabeasts have, and therefore beyond our control. The only way to test it would be to remove tags and fight lots of collossi to test it.  :p

I could be wrong but I noticed that the Ironmen regenerated quite quickly.  You know, those guys in the chasm?  I think they are called Ironman...

I tried making a colossus clone, then using the heal/hurt utility to hurt it. It seemed to heal all of it's fingers/toes (they started out red then gradually disappeared from the list), but everything else just stayed red. Is this normal?

OMG an Ironman movie...
Now Toady should add a "chest nuclear reactor" bodypart to all ironmen in the game.
