ABUSE_BODIES?
« on: May 02, 2008, 06:29:00 am »

I noticed this interesting sounding tag in the goblin civ in enitiy_default.txt

What in the heck does it do? It's not listed in the wiki.

My guess would be that it lets them continue to attack/grapple etc a corpse even after they've killed it.

Other images brought to my mind don't bear thinking about.

Does anyone have any better ideas beyond a guess? Seen goblins in adventure mode doing anything remotley related?

I think it means they stick corpses on pikes in their towers.  Several of my ill-fated adventurers ended up like that.

Yep, they stick slain enemies on pikes.  It can be quite nice to look at if there were enough bodies around, but unfortunately you have to provide the adventurers to get skewered.  Hopefully this will change when the next release comes out.

That, and the rather disconcerting appearances of "upright adamantine pike"s.

Sweet, so this could potentially be added to some sort of evil playable race? That'd be incredibly funny to see.

Goblins already have the tag, so they'll poke holes in whatever happens to die while visitng one of their dark towers.

In fortress mode, there's no effect.

I know that, I've killed lions by throwing dead jaguars at them  :p

I was more thinking some sort of amateur butchery with a battleaxe, being able to target corpses like an enemy and continue to grapple/attack them.

Ah, I see. Wouldn't that make it too easy to level up skills? I mean, just hacking up corpses everywhere?

I'd been thinking more along the lines of kicking a puppy then molesting its corpse... that wording was not how I meant it, but you get the picture.

lol thats why I looked at it, sounded kinky :P

hHaha, that's exactly what the tag is called and out of morbid curiosity I wanted to know what it did :P I couldn't resist using it as the thread title.
