Thank you Shanba, I'm not perfect at english and I thought that "fierce" was adj. and noun at the same time. Thank you for the correction, I will fix it (I will upload a new versions with fixed elves, new nazgul and haradrim Serpent Lord).

It's a pain in the *** to add new languages. Well, I can find quenya from some site or in my friends' book collections, but I won't do it now because somewhat short on time (but I waste it anyway...) because of my exams, but it's a nice suggestion and I've already thought about it. Maybe when I fix some problems and make unique different weapons for each race I will play with languages. This mod lives just few days and it doesn't have its own language still =).
Thank you for the feeback and if you have a desire to test this mod, please be patient and wait a few hours more, I'll release a new version with minor fixes and new evil pets for evil races (now I playtest them).

Looks really promising deon!

Maybe will inspire me to get bothering trying to package tilesets for my mod for others who actually want to use them lol.

Someone made some cool looking vampire tilesets earlier on this year but i passed them up  

Anyhows, back on topic, does the mod plan to be faithful to tolkiens universe as much as it can be or is it just for the fun of slaughtering pixelated halflings?

You ask dangerous questions -).

I'm not going to become a religious zealot, but I still want to make it close to the professor's world as I can.

By this I mean including features/monsters/weapons from Middle-Earth lore and removing unrealistic parts (like ettins and minotaurs, they're greek creatures and I don't remember anything close in ME. They're not touched just temporary, until I figure out more "neutral" monsters). Tolkien universe is all about good vs. evil and there're a lot of creatures on both sides, but not too many which are dangerous to both sides (I already included different spiders and some monsters like barrow-witches), but I may need some help from other contributors (in naming the actual professor's creatures).

The nearest release will include reworked and detailed body structure (and less instakill from missiles is one side of it), Nazguls, evil pets (trainable wargs, giant beasts, fell beasts and few out-of-my-head like ash donkeys and dark steeds, I don't know an analogue to replace them). Also elves are moved in actual cities (but live mostly in forested biomes) to let you shop from them (I plan nice elven weapons) and let you to take quests more easily (I was really bored while tried to find a mayor inside elven towers).

P.S> I couldn't think out something better than "Fancy Rat" to replace cats for evil race. It's vermin hunter and vermin at the same time, so I will check are they able to eat themselves (P.S. Nice idea to solve catplosion - add a "VERMIN" to cats. I'll check it though).

P.S. And of course it is "for the fun of slaughtering pixelated halflings"!

Ettins are "common" fantasy lore, not Greek.  Minotaurs, cyclopes, titans, hydras, bronze colossi and some others are from Greek myth.

Should be intersting to see how you plan the Nazgul, seeing as they can't actually die.

Well, at least their king was killed once =).

For now they're just for placeholder. I could give them enormous damblock but it's not fun. Let's admit when you struck one down you banish it somewhere =).

And easiest way is to damage their ring - if you're tough enough you can try to catch their right hand and cripple it =). Their mind is inside it so if it will be damaged they will suffer greately...
If you manage to find a better solution, post it here and I'll note it for sure.

Actually thats quite a good solution. Also, you could always make them powers like the wraith creatures in my mod. Would make sense since they lead the armies of sauron in the third age! Its hard to make wraiths balanced, in chaos reigns im still having trouble balancing them right. Usually if they get a hit in your buggered, but even with extensive body modding and damblock etc they still die too quick for my liking. So i wish you luck in that!

I dont know if you have, but youd need to edit the powers anyway. Balrogs were exceedingly rare, the one killed in moria apparantly the last (or hinted to be)!

You could always mod a 'ring' bodypart that has the brain tag? Sounds a bit like what you were describing!

They are powers. THe uruks and goblins have Nazgul, dragons, balrogs and evil wizards (I recall Saruman) as powers for now.

As long as there're a lot of different races, the game spawns no more than 4 civilizations for orcs and goblins in summary on medium-standard map, so with 4 kinds of powers for 4 civilizations it seems to be balanced enough.

I continue to find minor faults which could make the game played wrong so I continue to playtest. I.E. I forgot to add organs to few creatures after I changed their body to humanoid_real (I'm trying to make custom body which will better separate organs someway), so you can't pierce all organs in one shot; it was cool only when an ent stomped you, but

when the goblin with 1 dart
Pierces both your lungs and heart...
it's not real even there,

2.0 is released, with a lot of new featurs included.
Be aware of random crashes though (I think any mod which heavily tweaks and adds entities has this problem).
I will try to reduce them with time.

I think you should flesh out the human races more. And have your average commonborn gondorians and mongrel easterlings. Then, of course, the descendants of Numenor, the Dunedain and the Black Numenorians. I think they have enough differences to be separated into different sub-races.

Are Balrogs worshipped by the blackbloods, or are they simply the heavy-artillery of the evil armies? They should be worshipped anyway, after all they are maiar, hence divine. Of course, it depends on what age of middle-earth your mod takes place. Though, I'm guessing it is during the events in LOTR? I think, as someone else noted, that Balrogs are very scarce at this time. They were created eons ago by Morgoth when Beleriand was still above the sea. Most of them would probably be gone by the end of the third age.

Oh well, enough ranting. I love that you're making a middle-earth mod, and I'm looking forward to trying it once I have a proper PC.

OK I tested it and pre-army-arc wars work fine (with some biome/site tweaks I managed to make them to fight).
This is the first part of the attack led by elves at the orcish fortress.
I found this because the haradrim mayor gave me the quest to kill the elf in orcish fotress. It was a bit slow because of great number of combatants, but fun. BLood and gore everywhere!

The most funny part was when the balrog grabbed the elf by the turban and started smashing poor pointy-ears with this turban. The problem was that the balrog was hot and turban started to burn, burning the elves around it.

Are Balrogs worshipped by the blackbloods, or are they simply the heavy-artillery of the evil armies? They should be worshipped anyway, after all they are maiar, hence divine. Of course, it depends on what age of middle-earth your mod takes place. Though, I'm guessing it is during the events in LOTR? I think, as someone else noted, that Balrogs are very scarce at this time. They were created eons ago by Morgoth when Beleriand was still above the sea. Most of them would probably be gone by the end of the third age.

Oh well, enough ranting. I love that you're making a middle-earth mod, and I'm looking forward to trying it once I have a proper PC.

I wanted to differ them but the main problem is that the more entities you have the more chance is that some of them won't be spawned, thus moving us to the Standad map (I prefer medium, standard is too slow), so I considered to have good/evil men (1- "human alliance" including gondor, arnor and rohan people, and 2- armies of the south, lead by the dreaded serpent lord).
Well I consider it's the start of the 3rd age (if you take the modded .exe from the 1.0 it says 1st age/2nd age/3rd age on worldgen). I couldn't be very authentic (i.e. I wanted to have at least 1 balrog on the map, just for fun, and usually there's no more than 1 in the world; they're worshipped by random uruks/goblins{which are almost the same, the only difference is that "goblins" is the hobbit name for original orcs and uruk-hai were created later} along with nazgul/evil wizards/dragons, so usually there's 1 of each type).

I've found a nice "feature not a bug" because of one player. Because I made trolls spawn in caves but like and tolerate cities I often end up with elven/human cities full of trolls and without humans/elves because trolls wipe them out during the worldgen. While it's funny, it drastically reduces the number of "alive" human civs and quest-givers, thus I'll fix it in the upcoming version (I've added some things and I think I'll release it today-tomorrow).
