I thought it would be nice to have some more beds, so I used glass. These beds require cloth, unlike those wooden ones. This is my first mod, so please let me know if anything went wrong.
I have also made green, clear, and crystal glass weapons/armor/bolts. Green glass is a little less effective then copper, Clear glass is a little more effecive than iron, and Crystal glass is a little less effective than steel.
Readme has been added.
Glass Bed Mod has been finished and has been uploaded to dffd.
Glass Bed Mod
Here are the glass metals that I said I would add. The glass metals take on the color of the metal. If anyone wants me to add some more glass metals, let me know what type. Also, if someone could test these and help me balance them, I would appricate it, as I am not the best at that. If anyone has any more ideas
for glass, let me know them and I will see about coding them in.
Comments are appricated, as this is will make my second attempted at modding,
with the first being the glass beds. I would like to know how you are thinking
of it, so I know if I am doing good or I am doing poorly and need to change
something to make it better.
Glass Mod
This contains all of my glass mods. I kept the glass beds mod incase you would just like to add additional beds.
I have added magic glass weapons in this mod. These magic weapons are not supposed to be easy to get. Here is an exerpt from my dwarven historiens to explain the addition of these magic weapons.
code:
Sir, I am glad to report that our studies on these magic weapons has been
complete. We have also found a way to make these weapons, given the proper
equipment.
In our searching of ancient ruins and ancient family weapons we have
discovered 3 distinct types of weapons, swords, spears, and crossbows. These
weapons were used by the ancient races during their fighting.
The swords were used by the forces of light. When they imbued the glass sword
with their magic, the sword stored light and used it to burn their opponents.
We have christened these "Light Focuser Swords"
The spears were used by the forces of darkness. When they imbued the glass
spear with their magic, cold gathered around the spear, which allowed it to
freeze those on the receiving end of the attack. We have christened these "Death
Focuser Spear"
The crossbows are very interesting, in that they focus magic, rather than any
one specific type of it. These "Magic Focuses" can focus light, death, and pure
magical energy and launch it towards an opponent.
We can make these weapons, but they are expensive. The most expensive part is
the magic catalyst, which must be imported from a ruin of these ancients. The
current going price for each is 25,000. It also requires that we combine 5
each of our 3 different glasses, after they have been strengthened.
This allows the creation of magic glass, which when added to a bar of colored
glass(yellow for light, black for death) can be created into the necessary
glass before the production of the weapons.
Unfortunately, this reaction is unstable, but if we add another magic
catalyst, we can stabilize it and have a guarantee of creating the glass.
Otherwise, there is only a 50% chance it will be created.
This concludes my report. Praise be to Dragromblue and his magnificent army,
who will become unstoppable with these latest additions. I shall continue my
searching for additional magic weapons and see if any magic armor exists.
My second report that I have recived.
code:
Sir, I have good and bad news to report. The good news is that we managed to
find some magical armor. The only parts are plate mail and shields, but they
are much better than anything we have. The metal has been christened Defender.
We also have discovered how they stored stuff, but we don’t have any clue as to
what they ate.
The bad part is that we lost our excavation team. The soldiers were almost
completely wiped out by the creatures that rushed us during the excavation.
After reorganizing, we rushed the creatures and managed to kill a few before
being driven back. I grabbed a corpse and was able to study it.
I call this creature a Glass Guardian, because it is made out of glass, and
they chased us out of the ruins. It consists of 6 sets of legs and 2 sets of
arms, 1 set which has been permanently configured into blades. All of these
connect into a sphere which is connected to a head, which holds 4 eyes and a
mouth. The sphere holds a magic catalyst which is recoverable.
These creatures reproduce by means of duplication. We can use this duplication
for our own use. At this stage we can only do a crude form of it, and by
putting 1 bar of crystal glass in the presence of a magic catalyst we can
create another bar of crystal glass. However, this process destroys the
catalyst 10% of the time.
The DM says he has discovered a way to tame these creatures, should we manage
to capture one in a cage. He also says that it is possible to train these
creatures, but I have no idea how that will be done. Still, should he succeed
in taming these blood thirsty creatures; they will be an excellent addition to
your army.
That is all I have to report at this time. Until I have more to report, may
your troops be victorious against all of your enemies.
Please test my magic weapons and see what I can do to make them better. Also any suggestions for additional glass based magic weapons and armor are appreciated. I started these to create super weapons, that can be made without waiting for an artifact weapon to come along. These weapons are made at the forge.
