The Bay 12 Crest
« on: March 14, 2008, 03:52:00 pm »

Last time I donated, I requested something semi-specific.   And I got it!  And now I pass the unbound glory onto you!

Bonus points to the first person to describe the entire image in Dwarf Fort-ese!

ooh I have one but its a secret.  But it involves a hippo attack--my most memorable occasion, aside from the noble that eluded most efforts to destroy her and left scores others dead.

Wow... that was amazing! Even better than ascii-art. Are all people who donate by regular mail rewarded with such pretty drawings?

This is a paper crest. All craftdwarveship on it is of highest quality. It has an images of a carp and an elephant in paper on it. The carp and the elephant are holding up a steel shield. It has images of a toad and a hamster on it. Engraved on the steel shield are images of 3 dwarves, one in chalk, one in rose gold and one in cinnabar. One dwarf is drowning. Another dwarf is burning. The last dwarf is melting. Engraved on the shield are images of a plump helmet in marble and a battle ax in pyrulosite. Engraved on the shiled is an image of a giant cave spider and a web in pitchblende. Engraved on the image is an image of a rhesus makaque and a a iron pick in granite. The rhesus makaque is holding the pick. The crest is encircled with a asband of black pig tail cloth. Sewn on the pig tail cloth is a witty saying.

I think the artifacts in DF need a higher level of detail in their engravings

Psh, still waitin' on my coloring to get here. ;P Nice crest though.

Bonus points if someone can use actual heraldric language for it. I used to have a book on heraldry (picked up $10 from Borders, was awesome) but I'll be damned if I know where it ran off to.

Nice. DF has one of the most stable and respectful communities I have ever seen. Long live Tarn and Zach! I hope DF never dies, and if it lasts the lifetime of Toady, then someone else will have to continue it. That is a mandate.

I pinned my picture right above my bed. It's a carp attacking a dwarf.

Toady, you're amazing.

The shape was modeled on this, since I didn't really remember what a coat of arms looks like.  Note how the little banner at the bottom curls in the same way...

Well if it's any consolation, technically the dwarf menaces with spikes of fire.
