Finialized Instrument Mod
« on: April 10, 2008, 09:27:00 pm »

I finished this I while ago, just took time to put it in.
119 new instruments, and I don't believe they can be
individually mandated.

Impressive! If slightly anachronistic, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I noticed you limited the new instruments to dwarven use, but I can understand why, given the effort involved. Pretty much insignificant in any case - just means that you won't get traded them from anyone but the dwarves, as though you'd be trading for instruments in any case.

I am amused at carting a piano around as easily as a flute, but there's not much that can be done about that.

Anyway: nice!

This makes me truly regret that they are not actually useful.  Yet.

I'm sure they will be, and all your effort will be rewarded tenfold when a dwarf jazz band strikes up in your meeting hall.

That's right.  Dwarf jazz, everybody.

Honestly, I think they'd be more interested in rock. :P

Ah, but they seem to fancy metal more than rock.  :D

Cavalcadeofcats: Thank you! I did over look this,
so I have updated the file so that various instruments
are available to different races.

Echo-gnomics: I want to complain that they should be Elvish Horns rather than English horns, etc etc, but I'm overcome by the idea of a chorus of dwarves playing a fanfare for the king on *kazoo*s.  That and does this mean we'll end up with orthoclase zithers and wooden euphoniums?

It's true that I really didn't adapt these to the DF universe. . .
and until there are specific codes to specify wood, metal or stone
there will be +microcline lutes+ and *steel kazoos*
with menacing spikes of goblin bone.
I might have to through the list and edit the names to be more fantastic

updated to have some race specific instruments,
elven harps and the like.
Changed some names, English horn to gnome horn,
French horn to shrill horn and the like.
Any more suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
