Dwarmins Plant Mod Version 2
« on: March 11, 2008, 04:20:00 pm »

Ive added ten more plants to my original mod. *Most* are original ideas.
heh heh

Give me some feedback if you think I need to tweak something. http://rapidshare.com/files/98793634/matgloss_plant_dwarmod.txt.html

Battle Weed: A soldiers best friend-battle weeds can be chewed to calm the nerves, enhancing hand-eye-coordination and chasing away panic-but they are highly addicting. Long time users live in a constant state of emotional blankness, and will gradually lose the will to even rise from bed to feed themselves.
Most opt for the brewed form "war spirits", which still have a mild form of the sedative, but is much less damaging to the body.

Thunder Pod: A common plant, these small berries seemingly contain a electric current within them. It is thought it may have been an Elven attempt to breed a growable weapon. Nevertheless, Dwarven brew masters have been able to brew Thunderhead wine from them-true to its name, it provides a shocking experience-some would describe it as exhilarating, everyone else calls it painful.

Gem Flower: A rare and delicate flower, few are ever seen by the common people. A gem flower radiates and intense light when it blooms once every ten years-and it will bloom every ten years afterward-they seem to be unaffected by the ravages of age or time, being essentially immortal.
Their uses include making brilliant cobalt dye, or a rare perfume. Many nobles favor it because they assume the long living properties will pass on to them.

Welt Weed: An ugly bruise shaped weed found in the most savage lands. It is remarkable in its ability to survive nearly any climate. It can be used to make bleeding ale, which is utterly disgusting-its supporters say its an acquired taste. It makes a bright crimson dye-likened to redroot, Imperial Botanists say it is likely an ancient offshoot of that plant.

Berserker Palm: A bright orange-reddish plant found in wild areas. The explorers who first found it lost several of their number who tried to taste it and promptly went mad, hence the name. If properly prepared, it can be used as exotic orange dye.

Copper Melon: A amazingly bright melon, which refuses to grow anywhere but blessed areas. It is quite delicious-the juice is apparently very healthy. Its ability to store light during the day, and release it at night has led to it being used as a natural light source in Elven cities.

Harp Blossoms: Another beautiful, yet delicate flower, they are usually trampled by a careless boot because of their camouflage. It is used to make a white dye-it has significant religious significance. They say there was once actually a war between two rival religions of a single patch of harp blossoms.

Howling Gourd: Such a plant could never have grown on earth. It grows (or was designed?) in a way that when the wind blows through its center, it almost seems as if speaks in its own fell language. While sane people burn them wherever their found-Goblins like to make cloth from its resilient hide.
The strange demonic markings found on them are seen by the Goblins as signs of a coming apocalypse, of which they will presumably be the arbiters.

Demon Chimes: This thing flourishes in evil lands, pushing out native plant life with choking vines. It got its name the maddening sound it makes-a hellish screech that can drain the sprit in short time. Attempts to destroy them usually end in failure-they emit a horrible stench of sulfur when attacked. Goblins love it, obviously, and use it as an ingredient in their cannibal meals.

Crystal Kelp: A brilliant kelp strand, found in wet areas. Its unique appearence led to its inital discovery by fishermen, and now its aqua dye is a common sight in any seaside village.
