Trading troubles

No matter what I put forward for a simple iron battle axe, this trader doesn't seem to be satisfied. Is there some way to resolve this issue without slaughtering the entire village?

Yes. Slaughter a village of elves then take the best of what they were wearing. That stuff gets pretty valuble if theres enough of it.

Kill him, take what you want and then sneak out of town. Travel far away, and enter a town. If you went far enough, they shouldn't be hostile.

What about my army of drunks? Will they continue to be at my side?

Just grab a few exceptional weapons/pieces of armor from elven warriors. Wood weights less then iron, you know, so it's more comfortable to slay elves then other races.

Also there may be a problem with exceptional engrawings on the weapon which make it to cost so many gold pieces while it's really as good as a usual piece of iron. I always try to buy the best items without any decorations.

S'funny. I usually can buy anything I want for one or two coins.

"t" + "coin" + "merchant" = purchase

I suppose I don't really need the axe, as I already have a perfectly good halberd, but as long as I'm wielding a shield I want to do it with a bit of feasability.  :p

Also, in previous adventures I bought several things but they never appeared in my inventory. Stupid trader stole my stuff.

You have to pick up the stuff. Make sure to pick up the right stuff or you'll get killed.

Or if you do accidentally pick up the wrong item drop it IMMEDIATELY. If you drop it right away no one seems to care.
