Wrestling and locking
« on: January 13, 2008, 03:36:00 am »

I can't seem to lock limbs in wrestling. Why is this?

I have broken shoulders and stuff before, I just don't seem to be able to lock limbs anymore. I can grab fine, but then what? Take down, throw, pinch, gouge, but no lock or break.

Any help is appreciated, sorry for the vague description.

I am using http://www.dwarffortresswiki.net/index.php/Wrestling  as a guide for breaking limbs.

[Healthcare Update Thread] Personally, I can't wait for doctors to get possessed and start surgically attaching axes to champion soldier's arms.

What are you grabbing and what are you grabbing it with?

Maybe a better question, WHAT are you grabbing (creature, skeleton, zombie, etc.)?

I've tried this on an antman and an iron man.

Also, according to the guide, grabbing a lower arm with my hand should be able to break it. This is a no go for me.

Nevermind, I think I got it working. I may have just been attacking the wrong creature.

I tried it on an "ettin" and it worked, but still not for the ironman.

Hey, I killed the ironman by punching his head off.

Fuck.  :D

You cant break an ironman's limbs because they sever on break, meaning, any creature with the [SEVERONBREAK] tag aren't able to get broken arms and legs by wrestling, only by cutting or smashing them off with a weapon.

Antmen don't have real joints to break, so you cannot break their legs by wrestling either.
