I think it would ruin the spirit of the game if that specific ability was given to anyone but dwarves. I mean, it'd really ruin the ambience of most of my forts if there were random vomit piles distracting from the giant one I use as a welcoming mat.

A skeletal colossus doesn't make any mythical sense. They are beings which are entirely made from a metal. Sure, there can be a colossus in a skeletal shape, but then it wouldn't be a colossus.

When I see a C, I think "The Colossus of Rhodes" of 7 wonder fame.
To think a colossus would accommodate its form just for it's environment is crazy.

"Ok, I'll have my master forge me into a skeletal shape just so I can fit in this haunted environment."

Or to put it another way, maybe the forger is a necromancer who goes in for the whole skeletal aesthetic. The form ought to be decided by what ever created it really.

Then it could be a "Skeletal Monstrosity" instead of a Skeletal Colossus. It could be manufactured by necromancer cults.

Surely a skeletal monstrosity ought to be made of the bones of many corpses magically joined together into a larger beast. Where as a skeletal bronze colossus is like a normal one only in the shape of a skeleton (possibly due to a lack of bronze I guess).

Like a giant animated Wicker Man, whose structure is made out the bleached bones and rotting corpses of a nearby town. The poor victims fused into one 'hive mind' that controls the monstrosity via the darkest magic.

I'm talking about Warcraft3 here by the way, not WoW. Never really liked WoW, never realled liked MMORPGs in general. Though I still think people are a bit too hard on it.

Also yes to the miasma breath attack, no reason why we cannot have different kinds of dragons!</STRONG>

If I'm not mistaken, Sapphiron was aquired in Northrend, while fighting the race of crypt fiends on your way to Icecrown glacier. Not to mention that Blue dragons are blue for magic, not blue for ice. You know, unless the lore is lying to me, just like that time with the draeni... god damn space ship...

Tis a sign of a change of ages when the source of mythology changes hands.

The age of D&D, Warhammer, religious history, and ancient myth have come and gone... seems now is the age of WoW.

the Future of Fortress 2 thread should be read then. But heres a quick summary. They're joined magically. And/or they're surrounded by a magic barrier that holds the undead fish together. The fish floats in the air magically. (note these are all different theories). Blah blah blah, the list goes on with various magical influences and the like.

I think you guys get the point though that most undead creatures are brought to life magically. Though i guess letting them simply exist "just because" is too easy for some people.

I'm sure Toady has an easier explanation and will probably be explained later. Possibly if he decides to add magic. Though one can only hope.

You mean, you understand magically raising the dead BUT you don't understand magically defying the weakest of the 4 fundamental interaction?
