AWESOME.

I was indeed thinking why DF still didn't have undead dragons.

Can I make skeleton tallow soup?  maybe bone marrow soup would be more appropriate.. but those guys are probably as dry as a bone.

It checks if the creature is legal first -- and the colossus as well as the elemental men are not legal, unfortunately.

You do get zombie and skeletal dragons though.  I might disallow them the ability to breathe fire to even things out, but I haven't done that yet.  If I don't get to it, skeletal dragon fire will be explained in the same way as skeletal fish and birds.  You're welcome to debate the specifics of course, as usual.

Make a 'rot breath' attack, wherein the hulk of the dragon spits forth a massive cloud of biting insects, flecks of rotting skin, and globs of disease-packed bile.

Still probably best to save that for a zombie dragon, though.

Not for now, since they don't have bones.  On the other hand, once we have more appearance variables, and we know what the colossus is doing there in the first place (or not), there wouldn't be anything stopping a colossus in the shape of a very large skeleton from hanging around.

I thought people came up with several explanations, though I don't remember the thread clearly...

Skeletal fish and bird mechanics were hypothesized towards the middle of Future of  Fortress Thread 2 i believe. The consensus being they were held together by some form of magic.

But to touch upon the Skeletal Dragons, I do believe rotting breathe attacks are called for. Just change the color of the flame breathe to brown and green and we got ourselves a flaming rotting pieces of zombie dragon flesh to deal with.

Give the rot breath to zombies and a frost type breath to the skeletons, because for some reason, skeletons are more oftenly associated with cold then any other type of undead.

Also, because skeletal dragons with ice attacks are just badass.
