Okay, the mudslinging and petty insults are starting to get out of hand. Both of you, cut it out.

I agree with ID, the attacks were completely uncalled for.

As my german teacher (He was german, he didn't teach it) would say to troublemakers: Auf die knie, und heul'/winsel' um Vergebung

I daresay both of you refers to both you and Torak.  This behaviour is childish and serves absolutely no purpose other than annoyance and the eventualy degradation of the community.

Both of you quit your yapping and shove off.  Don't bother posting again until you can show enough maturity so that you can be put up with.  I've absolutely no patience for this kind of mindless insulting, I've seen far too much of it.

Now back to the original discussion.

I believe DF as a game has no room for concepts like honor, trying to fight honorably in this game will just end up with you getting shot down by a kobold elite bowman, burnt to death by a dragon, or wiped from existence in a single spray of webs from a giant spider.

This is the game where you drown uppity nobles, send immigrants to Auschwitz-esque death rooms, and do even worse things.

While I understand the whole 'fighting without honour' thing, I also think that exploiting things like this is akin to cheating. I try to limit myself to actions that are not a clear break in the game.

Throwing coins should not be so lethal. Because it is, and because it shouldn't be, I avoid throwing them. Instead, I take spears for throwing.

Regardless of the honor or dishonor of a particular action, I take to doing whatever looks/sounds coolest.  While throwing coins at a dragon may have its novelty factor, there's nothing quite as satisfying as throwing a spear into the great beast's heart.  Well, except for throwing an axe into its head, of course.

So, exploit or no exploit, I just do whatever I think will be most heroic-sounding.  If this means decapitating an ogre by throwing wine at it, then so be it.

Charging at a dragon and decapitating it: How many hundred old years is that really?
Charging at a dragon and get burnt to a crisp: Losing is fun!
Sneaking up on a dragon and strangle it: MOAHAHA!
Scaring the dragon to death by pure coolness (and diet knowledge): !!¤AWESOME¤!!
Exploding the dragons head whit a thrown live fly: funny the first time, but kinda cheating.

The guy who said "You're gamers, not fucking samurai." is right. Also, Armok got a point there.

Honor or not, shit happens.  The dragon could have had an infected nose from a bugbite so the pain from a coin smacking him there would be blinding.  How would you have known beforehand that he had a nasty infection?  How would you have known your coins would happen to hit him in the right place?  All's fair in love and war.

Can you imagine how large the guy's hands were?

What did he do? Tie the dragon's neck in a knot?
