The wiki says to press p, but all that does is try to put something in a container. Help?

Press [w] for "wear."

And [r] for "remove" if you need to take something off.

For weapons, I think you have to drop stuff and pick it up to reorganize what's in your hands.

Now how do I wear small clothing?

Giant Cave Spider ambushes you
Player loses hold of right iron gauntlet
Player loses hold of left iron gauntlet
Giant Cave Spider rips off right arm
Giant Cave Spider rips off left arm

Aaaaahhhhh there we go nows there's plenty of room.

Ok real question now, Is there any defense bonus to wearing leather gloves under my metal ones?

"Small" clothing can't be worn. Neither can "narrow", or (I think they're called) "Large" or "wide".

Those are all clothes made for different races.

The small clothing was a joke, but as for Grek were you refering to the leather under metal?
