How to Have Player Storage (Works as of v. 27.173.38a)
« on: February 16, 2008, 09:03:00 am »

Being burdened by 3800 shiny disks of metal can cause a pretty big strain on anyone's back, so I went about trying to find out how to reduce my weight. Avoiding coppers is easy enough, by dropping all the silver and gold and then buying things with plain copper, but such an effect stops the flow of weight about as well as chewing gum over a crack in the Hoover Dam.

Since Banks and Player-Owned houses are but a distant dream (by my understanding).

A little resourcefulness has pointed out that permanent player storage can be had by merely buying a backpack. I noticed that the items in the mayor's house are never tagged as being owned by the city.

I also noticed that dropped coins disappear instantly. (understandable. I'd pick up gold just laying around too, if I found it.) However, simply tying a backpack shut full with coin is protection enough against inquisitive fingers. Merely (P)lace the coin in a container, and choose the backpack you wish to leave behind, then drop said backpack off in the mayor's house. It seems like it works indefinitely.

Hope this helps anyone else who has problems with being unable to carry around all those beautiful shinies.

I'm a bit of a coin collector myself. This will help a great deal. Thanks!

I think the only thing it cares about is item weight right now, which is probably why the (presumably heavy) backpack works.
