I just traded my sword and some extra clothing for a better sword and a spear, but when I finished the trade, I never recieved the equipment I bought.  My sword was still gone, so now if I can't figure out what happened, I'm sort of out of luck.  Is there something I need to do to get my stuff?

The items that you bought in the shop stay on the shelves but they lose the $ tags. Basically, to get the stuff you bought you go and them up from the shelves.

Yeah, I figured that out, on a similar note, said sword was dropped when it got stuck in a Trog, and now it's vanished. Does anyone know how to reclaim it?

It didn't drop, its still in the trog. Go kill it or wrestle with it and grab onto the sword, then try to walk away when you've grabbed on. That should get it back for ya. to get close you can throw some crap at him like rocks or dead monsters limbs ect. I normally throw some stuff to knock them down or have them give in to pain. Then just go over and plant your foot on his chest and rip your sword out ;P OR just twist it to be mean.

It was already dead, and I found a different sword, but that sword was completely gone, I looked all over, it wasn't in the corpse, it wasn't anywhere.

When you killed it did the body just fall down or did you smack it into  a wall? I've had things disappear when I cause something to explode into a wall but never when they just die on the spot. That is very strange
