Adventure mode lag, possible temoprary workaround?
« on: November 14, 2007, 09:13:00 pm »

I'm sure everyone already knows about the lag people are experiencing in adventure mode right now, but it can cause considerable problems when trying to play the game. Toady mentioned in another thread that most of the lags are caused by 3D LOS issues, and that it wasn't a top priority, so as a temporary fix until there's time to deal with the root problem, would it be possible to add an option in the init file to disable LOS, or would that just cause more problems?

Uh, disabling line of sight would make you blind.   If you mean just disabling 3D LOS, then I dunno.   Toady may've already fixed things up.

I don't mean disabling video output, I just meant disabling the LOS features that are exclusive to adventure mode and making the entire screen visible ala DF mode.
