Villainy

I had this Idea in my mind: I would play a bad adventurer, steal all the armor form the armor shop, then rob the rest of the shops of gold coins and goo stuff, while killing guards with thrown rocks (it works that far), then escape to another civ and get a bounty on my head (with another adventurer obviously). I tried with 3 adventurers so far, all of them died before getting this quest. does anyone know if it can be done.
and if it can, and they did it before: does the other civ get angry when you kill it's new citizen?

Actually, I'm willing to bet that being able to fight previous adventurers, or any combat between civs of the same race for that matter isn't in the game at all yet.  I think this mostly because (from what I've read) dwarves will not siege your fortress no matter what happens to your caravan, and because in the time I've played adventure mode the only quests ever given are for monster caves, dead forts, or 'monster' civs like kobolds and goblins.  Subsets like bandits, thief, or seedy areas, on the other hand, don't seem to exist yet; if you can retire in a town, the rest of the civ doesn't care about whatever you've done in the past.  If you were to get another character and kill the retired adventurer, though, the rest of the city would actively pursue you.

I'm fairly sure that you can recruit retired adventurers, so killing them should be possible as well.

I killed an entire town full of people in my Pirating game (see the thread for details) so it's perfectly simple to fight members of your own race, including past adventurers.  Unfortunately, there aren't much details on this in the game at the moment.  Once you kill one member of your race, it appears that every other member of your race instantly turns against you, making it impossible in my game to recruit other humans to help me sack a town, etc.  I do hope Toady plans to do more with this in the future!

When I tried something similar it ended with the party members killing each other.

The first part went like this: I accidentally stole an item from a shop. At which point other party members attacked me. Guards came to my rescue so I could get away. Came back to fight what ever remained, killed one ex-ally and got killed by the last one.

On a next  char I got a quest to kill the survivor and it went down something like this: I attacked the target and party members A and B followed, but party member C attacked me. When the target was dead A attacked C and B attacked A. The rest of the party proceeded to fight in the same chaotic way. Afterwards I slaughtered the entire town and went on a long travel to a distant civ and retired soon after.

They were all of the same civ. I think it was this that messed it all up.

Eh, *straight* fighting is in, yes, but not any sort of bounty system.

Also, I am almost 99% sure I was able to kill everyone in a town without consequences once, without using fire.  I'll have to look into trying to repeat that; it could be that sneaking around is how I did that.

It's quite possible actually.
My cousin does it all the time.
And hammers are the best tools for the job.
EDIT: To kill the whole town that is.
Not making bounties.

Anybody can kill a town; the question I have is "can it be done without people from nearby towns looking to kill you as soon as you walk in?"  Like I said, I know I did it once but I've no clue why I was able to, though it's possible I was technically in a different civ (unlikely, but possible).

>_> My choice of weapon is an axe; iron greataxes do a boatload of damage and chop limbs, which is great for disabling anyone dumb enough to not run away (which makes me think of the grand possibilities in having intelligent townsfolk who don't instantly become aware of you murdering someone else, and run away real fast or try to hide once they realize what you're doing, as well as the heroic guardsmen bravely defending the town from you [or not-so-heroic types joining the peasantry in running away or hiding], as well as perhaps finding refugees that you didn't manage to slay in another town standing behind a legion of guards waiting for you).
