I'm sad that we won't be getting the Legendary Day 1 ToonyMan Lynch, but not surprised.
It's a tragedy when it happens, every time.

As of ISO:
Town Reads:
Crystal, Agentt
Strong Town Leans:
Tric
Weak Town Leans:
Verm, Toaster
NULL:
Urist, Sal, Jim
Weak Scum Leans:
NQT, Jack, Tooney
Strong Scum Leans:
Cat
Scum Reads:
N/A
Okay reads. More important, colored text <3 <3 <3

Scum:
TheCanadianKitten
ToasterCultist
JimGroovester
Jim Groovester, weak anti-town, low confidence
toastercultist, medium anti-town, medium confidence
[Ghost of Nonexistence expresses a willingness to take a gamble.]

toastercultist
I really really have a hard time believing that Jim and not!Toaster are scum together.

*sigh*

There's a pro-game argument to vote off Cat since they're seeking replacement. It's an understandable vote, but I don't think it's a good one.

I don't really like Jack, I think. He unnerves me and feels wrong.

NQT splitting their votes is interesting. I'm happy they see the light about El Salvador.

I don't know how Krr1ss is acting, I think they're a good dude.

CFD - Chinese Fire Drill. No idea how it's related to the name but it's basically end of day fast switching of wagons, happen literally minutes or seconds before EOD (end of day) and is usually done by mostly town.

History of the term, it was an insult where a supposedly well-trained and organized team effort turns into a frantic scramble of people working against each other.  Dates back to when fires were fought with lines of people all passing a bucket of water rapidly down the line to throw onto a fire, this can be faster for firefighting than say, 100 people each rushing that far with their own one bucket, the fire growing as they run instead of the hose-like sploosh of a good toss of water every second or so from the next handed up bucket - a Chinese fire drill presumes people doing weird stuff (that may work well) instead of neatly passing the buckets - but it looks chaotic and stressful (and can be).

It started to be used for other things, like a prank from the 1960s where people in a car that stops for a light or stop sign then jump out, run around the vehicle, and jump back in at a different door.

I prefer the term 'flash mob'.

Using a line of peasants to pass the buckets is actually really effective because you can get the buckets from one end of the line to the other in a single 6 second round of combat.

Beams at Mater We absolutely must somehow boardgame together.  Is that a D&D reference, or what else?

FallacyofUrist, what happens in the event of a vote tie?  I tried to scan through the rules and opening post and couldn't find it.

I'm here. I understand there is not much time.

Who am I voting?
The no fun answer? Cat.

The funny answer? NQT.

The even funnier answer? Toasterthecultist.

By default, nobody dies. I will fight webadict over this if I have to.

By the way, there's 37 minute left in the Day.

Not hot on a TCk lynch because I doubt he's scum but there's not a player in his slot for me to defend.

Also not hot on a toastercultist lynch and there is a player I can defend there.

How did the game form to where people I think are town or probable mislynches are currently leading in votes?

There could be more than one anti-town faction.

I and others can be wrong about Jim.  I can just need more time to see his awesome town-self.  He's at zero votes, he's probably okay for today.

My biggest thought about 'but what if I'm wrong about Cat' is literally Mater's deep sus.  That's potentially worth a flip, despite my thinking this is more likely town Cat.  I do like and trust Mater in the games where I now know he was town (even when I didn't at the time).  But I do expect he can be wrong, but his deep sus?  I dunno.  If a tie is no elim and nobody else was here, it's 3-3 between Cat and Toaster, I'd take Cat.

Fuck it, toastercultist

But my own read, I sus Toaster more.

I don't want to vote Cat or NQT or notToaster. I'm bitching out. I don't want to give a weak ass vote I don't mean. I think Crystal and Jack are suspicious to me my D1 is all vibes. Between Cat/NQT/notToaster I would vote Cat to break a tie and keep the game fun by removing the replacement slot from the game.

If we're going to surprise-lynch somebody, I'd prefer for it to be Crystalizedmire. Her reads all seem to be predetermined, with the reasoning filled in afterward. Most of them don't make sense and aren't cohesive with her other reads. For example, the town read on Tric for being a zany frood came way too early, and it was strange that she dropped that read without validating it with others, despite it being a read predicated on meta she's learned from other people.

I'd also be fine with Jim Groovester. He was the person I was waiting for, who said he'd be posting after work. Anyway, I didn't like how he kept referring to Canadian kitten as a likely mislynch, without explicitly calling him town. He also said that EuchreJack's push on Canadian kitten was lame. I'd say Jim is likely mafia because I don't really understand the soft defence there - it could be him defending his buddy, but I've also seen mafia defend weaker townies in this way.

I don't know.

I hear all your not-votes.

Do you have strong cases?  This is for other days maybe more than today.  Seems we have a clear elim, or maybe we shift more but cases are worth it if you got any.

I picked Toaster because without anyone else changing their votes, we have a lynch.  If you are gonna vote Cat, I'll switch back.

It's a reference to the Peasant Railgun in D&D, which is the idea that a line of peasants can transport an object instantly by lining up in order of initiative and using their action to pass the item to the next peasant in line.
