Far as I know, only Verm and FoU have claimed Genre Global Campaign, which both make identical claims about so far, like knowing where people are. I talk about locations sometimes, but I'm not Global Campaign.
If FoU is maf and Verm is not, elim FoU will cut maf off from whatever info gained by that. This might be a great idea; the only reason why I hesitate is my nagging concern that perhaps 'not all mafia roles are of close to equal value or danger this game' - and also a tiny hint of mech that suggests that the death of maf may power other maf up... maybe particularly a maf Haunted House role, but I'm guessing there.
If Verm is maf (or also maf) that gets maybe more awkward (especially if FoU is town); I do think he's quite likely to be town though but they both keep each other honest (presuming as I also lean that FoU is maf) while also ensuring all location info bleeds into maf+whatever they can put with it. And it's FoU helpfully answering most of my location questions that get answered, at least D2.
I think this is an interesting point with regard to the flow of information. Do you think it would benefit town to have all locations public, since the mafia seem to know them?
counts own posts 24...
Uhh. Yeah. So ... I have one reason why FoU is on my maf pile. It's a biggy. I think the maf have NJW as a haunted house, OR they have info that haunted house is a town role (or two roles) that they had better hunt.
FoU's made two fishy posts about who haunted house might be.
I don't think FoU makes the best decisions even when town. But the odds that FoU involved in that mess are pretty serious to me, and that's why Fou went from my weak-townlean (currently my whatisit pile) to maflean.
If FoU flips town I'm going to nod and regret. FoU is a very hard read when town, has rarely been town, and often doesn't get time to learn much as a living town. Many previous games, 'just flip FoU, scum yay'. Now FoU seems to get more frequent town games, but still gets flipped early a lot.
I won't be surprised if FoU flips maf, and I'm glad for Maf deaths, and I'm sure we're balanced for the death of maf in 'random order' (oh, wait, we're expressly told random is likely to be pro-maf - but there's probably balancing mech somewhere) even if this powers up some or all of the remaining maf in unfortunate ways.
I note that Verm does not have FoU on his preferred kill list. FoU said this about Verm:
VermSky initially gained some of my trust with his talk about the Location system - see, I'm also Global Campaign, so I understood what exactly is special about Tric.
And really nothing about Verm since.
Flips are what they are at 'time of death', and we see the mod flip, nothing redacted or hidden.
Unless there's some kind of cleaner, I think if we flip either of them everyone gets to see their full role, including whatever info they have (I'd guess maf-notes may not be in the role that flips though).
So, I don't know how much it matters to tell everyone; if neither of them is maf then maf doesn't get their info except what's said. We can hope they so-far told us what was towny to tell (should work unless they're both maf) so if they didn't share something, it's pro-town to not share it.
If they're both town, flipping one may compromise the other, revealing info to maf that helps extra much to know the other townie - this is likely worse if they're also both the same board game. We can hope that their roles are not fully identical in all details even if they're the same board game.
But if one is maf, this already happened, so no further damage.
All considered... nah.
I trust them, especially paired, to play to their wincons.
There's still the chance neither is maf and neither flips today.
