I said it last game and I'll say it again

I behave like this no matter my alignment. Channeling a little bit of mania and showmanship helps make games more fun.

Interesting hypothetical, but Tric's location appears to be a fucky-wucky unknown value instead of an actual place.

Hey, does this... unknown value have a precise name?

FoU.  No pressure, and I take 'townie secret' better than some.  But I do note you're one of very few who have posted and not made any sort of... direct claim yet for N1.  I mean, I'm as vague as you perhaps and I'm not chiding.  But this is what I track for you -

- FoU:  "Yeah, everyone is in a Location. Except maybe Tric."

Anything I missed or anything you think helps your wincon to add at this time?

I visited you, actually! I didn't do anything to you, though.

Make of that what you will.

(Okay, but for real, there's a reason why I'm not claiming more about how my / Verm's Genre works. I think the truth will come out later today, though.)

10 of us have posted; 10 of us have made some degree of claim.

This is what I see, I could have missed some.

- Imp:  Displays a blue protective vote

- Salvatore Monday:  "I targeted notquitethere in a mostly benign way. I'm not sure if NQT can technically confirm this or not."

- NJW2000:  "I prevented Vermillion targeting EuchreJack, but I don’t find out if they actually tried to target EJ."

- Elephant Parade:  "To the person who got the thing: Please take the option that lets me gain the predetermined unlimited-shot ability, not the 3-shot version of one of several abilities (all of them are IMO worse than the unlimited-shot ability) or the extra vote. Also, please make your choice late enough in the day that the condition won't turn out to be impossible to meet."  " I tracked you (via a Family Genre action) to Imp and juicebox."

- TricMagic:  "My protect target last night was Jack. My other action doesn't give anyone info, me or my target."

- VermilionSkies:  "I set up some stuff for myself that'll let me do doctoring easier."  "Also:  The people who could've targeted EJ last night (assuming no Location manipulation) aaaare: CM, EP, Hyper/Salvadore, NQT" "Everybody is in a Location, me and FoU can see all of it."

- notquitethere:  "Is everyone in a location or just me? Anyone want to give me compelling reason to claim where?"  "I targeted EJ. If EJ had died last night, it might still have helped town a little because of my power."

- FallacyOfUrist:  "Yeah, everyone is in a Location. Except maybe Tric."  "I visited [imp], actually! I didn't do anything to you, though."

- EuchreJack:  "Got results, Imp is Town" "I performed three actions. Two targeted Imp, one targeted juicebox" (Originally said Hyper/Salvatore Monday instead of Juice)

- CrystalizedMire:  "I targeted myself last night."  "That's the last you'll see of auctions."

- Juicebox:

Imp finishes playing that second boardgame and looks up again.

So I'm pretty sure Crystal's role is Betrayal At House On The Hill, specifically due to each of the auctioned abilities being rooms, taking a room being a willful action and choice - as in exploration - possessing a mixture of positive and negative effects - and granting a kill as the final result of exploring the rooms.

Thinking about it more, it may be one of those townie-roles-that-look-intentionally-scummy. Wouldn't be the first time I've seen one of those.

Thinking about it more.  This bugs me a lot.

Rolefishing 'needlessly'?  Super specific focus on one board game out of the many thousands possible.  Scum with notes?

This may not be an especially dangerous mafia.  But I need reassurance and understanding, FoU.  All the pieces in play, I think you maybe might be scum.  What I don't get is why show? But you are FoU.  Why Clark Kent when you pulled that?  You make an amazing game but your strats as a player... continue to gain polish I hope.

I need help to understand, and you might be the elim today or very soon on the path I see before us all.  And your flip actually might be maf as I try to see into that future.  Talk more, I hate that I may actually support your elim too.

Imp sighs  That bugs me.  I need another distracting board game....  ah!  This one.  And it's a long one, distracting.  Not one I as 'Imp' so often play.  But Demonbane... it calls me now.  *Starts setting up the many pieces.*

Imp
My overall response is "Whose role am I fishing?"
I literally said not to bother doing a line-by-line rebuttal but there's no curbing you, huh? You weren't fishing one specific player's role, but rather repeatedly creating an atmosphere generally receptive and conducive for other people claiming. Now, assuming EJ's inspect was correct, this was just you being you. But I don't think I was wrong about this.

NQT, you gonna follow up on this at some point?  Or at least discuss how you feel about the REST of the voters EoD1?

You... make this great show of poke FoU.

So silent about the rest.
It's a reasonable question, but I literally did following up on exactly that post. I looked at those players, and I identified Fallacy as the most suspicious due to the EOD movement, a line of questioning I'm literally on right now. I'll provide more on the other players when I do a reads list after I read back over the game later on D2.

Fallacy, why did you wait until the last possible moment to use your vote?

Vermillion Skies
Okay, so!
I don't have any mechanical information on Tric's alignment, but they are in a spot that's very convenient for my nightgame if they're left alive.
Said nightgame is directly helpful to the town.
Can you say now what the benefit for town was for keeping Tric alive?

Elephant Parade
Don't take Butchery or someone else will have to take Smithy to prevent last-minute shenanigans, and I don't think anyone is universally townread enough to justly do that
What do you think about Crystal picking Smithy?

Fallacy
Correct me if I'm wrong, Verm, but we can semi-confirm Tric's action target if anyone at all chooses to visit him this Night, yes?
I can do that.

TricMagic
That would almost undoubtably have to be NQT.
Why did you say this?

Of note the Family genre will only update the shared shots at the end of the night. So the closest you're know is the next day.
What does this mean?

Salvatore Monday
Claim: I targeted notquitethere in a mostly benign way. I'm not sure if NQT can technically confirm this or not.
Mostly! Haha. Unfortunately, I haven't received any info that could confirm or deny this.

Let's assume for now that Euchrejack is town and successfully clears Imp as town. And let's assume (as it could be independently verified) that these people were the people who could have targeted EJ:

The people who could've targeted EJ last night (assuming no Location manipulation) aaaare:
CM
EP
Hyper/Salvadore
NQT

I'm good. I'm willing to give Hyper/Salvadore a pass for today as just subbed in. Elephant Parade I'm town reading. This leaves Crystal. Crystal who has done basically nothing both days other than answer questions about the auction.

Reads

These are lighter in detail than I'd like, as just a snap impression from having read back. I'm sure they will continue to sharpen up as the day develops.

Town

Imp - Prolix as ever, touchy when accused but not as directly OMGUSy as when she was last mafia. Apparently cleared by EuchreJack.

Elephant Parade: I think this is a town EP. Stuck neck out to try to push for an auction plan. Actively pressuring other players

EuchreJack - Active. Cleared Imp, who could have been a possible target today as more than one person had been on her case D1.

NJW2000: I liked his reads on D1 and willingness to reassess his views. I didn't like the fact he decided to unvote and abscond from the EOD decision making. Still, can hardly talk myself as I wasn't able to around due to weekend plans.

VermilionSkies: Has tried to do solving stuff with the location reveals. Voted on D1 (low bar, and yet!)

Hyper/Salvatore Monday: We need to see more. Hyper didn't do much on day 1 probably due to RL issues. I want to give Salvatore at least a day.

TricMagic: Being incredibly tight-lipped about his abilities when usually town Tric is all MY ROLE. I wouldn't be surprised if we're seeing scum Tric here. Became uninspectable on D1. Apparently protected EJ though, so that's nice if true.

juicebox: Who? Where? Basically just lurking through. Didn't use vote until last part of D1.

FallacyOfUrist - Didn't vote until last third of the game. Didn't hammer Juicebox (if either flip scum then this looks bad for the other)

CrystalizedMire: has done nothing other than put forward the auction. Didn't vote all day and then grabbed an auction item to prevent themselves getting eliminated.

Scum

Everyone

We need to have a wagon and hammer someone today. Two competing wagons would be even nicer. It's still early, more might yet be revealed, but I'll be badgering people on this point if they still have their votes on non-wagon picks by the second half of the day.

I personally consider the pool should be between the somewhat suspicious Fallacy, and the shifty do-nothings Juicebox, Crystal, and to a lesser extent Tric.

Ironically if EJ or I survive the night, or anyone else with Family genre, we will see which actions have had shots used.

NQT that was purely by process of elimination in response to EP saying Scum would have to be within the auction buyers. Of course I'm tight lipped, it's not just my ability. All I did was declare which I was going to use, then used it.

Also know what Jack hit Juicebox with from the ability name. It was Roleblock. I meanwhile used the Marshmallows. Jack can confirm the name.

To be fair, Tric was all about "my role, my role , my role" to me. He was able to talk in code because I revealed that I have the Family Genre. NQT just wasn't invited to the Family party 🎉
