Glad we finally pinned down that hector13 was actually killed on N0.  And hector13 didn't kill himself, otherwise he wouldn't be so pissed off about it.
This also explains why hector13 has been rather more involved than one would expect from the recently deceased: He's looking for his killer.

hector's pissed? What makes you read that about him?
His more recent posts gave me that impression.

Anyways, yes, just to make my claim more explicit.

I make cat ear headbands. I give out cat ear headbands. If you get a cat ear headband it forces you to wear it.

I said my role mechanics were suspicious day one. Now y'all know why.

I gave one to Jim specifically because I figured his destruction-thingy would let him destroy it.

Anyone else want one as proof they exist?

Okay, yes, my role could have some sort of control mechanic that lets me influence someone wearing one, but uh, it doesn't. Wrong spheres for that.

Seems possible.  Complex rules; can wager item(s).

It's also a good way to destroy 2 items or let someone steal 2 items, if possible (but hopefully they see who gets them!), or purposefully 'pass' 1 item to someone without trade or give being involved.

Oh alright fine I wanted to keep it a secret but every motherfucker is speculating on it and it’s pretty obvious at this point anyway. I wanted to do my stuff unmolested because I don’t know what the anti-town team can do to redirect or whatever my action.

I am patient zero.

I am town (submitted a role to be SK, too bad that’s an alignment) and got to act N0. I do in fact believe I am the one responsible for the N0. I chose to infect Tric because I thought he would be the least bothered by being infected, felt a little guilty that he wasn’t.

I mentioned somewhere on D1 various ways the infection could be used, and I decided to use it like a secondary lynch, hence targeted the second choice D1 lynch of CM.

I was unsurprised to find CM claiming to be infected D2, much moreso to find Imp claiming it,  especially after Tric’s apparent reticence to pass the infection on, and even much moreso when Imp claimed it worked very differently from how I know it does, hence the heavy pushing on that point.

Now I will sulk at night and everybody should hope scum can’t compel me to act.

I think I see more gloating than annoyed.

Yes, I am delighted that a weapon for town has basically been made redundant.

I think you should tell us what you did to Tric because it makes zero sense for you to act on somebody who was going to die anyway and weren’t sure if they were coming back as a ghost.

Unless of course, you were sure because you’re responsible for the lack of flips?
This line of reasoning doesn't work. Vermilion was already dead and became a ghost at this point. Imp would be aware that flips probably weren't happening.



Condition Update

To prevent unnecessary confusion, here is the corrected text of the Infection status.

I realise I have copy-pasted a draft version of the condition to people which stated infection could spread to people who target the infected. This isn't the case.
This creates new problems. Scum infecting Imp last night makes more sense to me than Crystal, but Crystal also claims being infected.

I don't think anyone's gonna argue that the book and the pages and their related strats should not be discussed, so I'll discuss now.

The book is potentially horrible.

I have a lot of abilities that help me use it more safely.  But it's designed inherently to require a lot of teamwork and cooperation to be used safely, or else to be pretty weak, or for me to be changed by someone so I could potentially use it more effectively.

Alternatively, anyone alive can use it.  Possibly without my safeguards (Maybe I could pass them on so with them!) but how to confirm the alignment of the user.

If you're scared about someone specific maybe having and using the book, please kill that person.  It can only be used by the living, and only once that living person has 3+ pages.

Since I started with it, if I held it, I don't have to worry about that.  But it does require trust, cooperation, teamwork to really use 'much' or you need just the right role, abilities, and probably luck to use it usefully for your wincon.

I also can destroy any item I hold, but only at night, and if I had held the book N1 I would have destroyed it then, especially after Fal's helpful demo of "I and maybe others can take this from you sooner or later".

I strongly support the book and any copies that may exist being destroyed, I think that's the safer way to handle it.  I can confirm if any copies exist in play, but I would prefer not to as there's a cost that isn't really pro-town under most circumstances.

The pages make copies of certain abilities of anyone who has the page at the end of the day.  Never a mafiakill, never an auto, never an item.  So, the one traded by Jack has a copy of one of Jack's abilities on it, and I picked that one to check on, which is why I targeted Tricmagic, expecting to see the name of Jack's copied ability.

Downside is, while the ability works if it can be used... if the page can be used.  The user only knows the name of the ability, not the text of what it does.

Maybe once someone had the book and 3 pages at once, since that can be used and you can ask about what you can do, maybe then you can get details if you ask.  Otherwise you're stuck with what you trust of what people tell you, whatever you get from flips (yeah, what flips) and whatever else can get info.  Your own abilities that qualify get copied; you know what they are so you can decide if you wanna use them or not if you were ever in that position.

I hoped we could use the pages investigatively.  They will take a qualifying ability name from the holder at the end of day.  I have a neat range of abilities that interface with pages in various ways, even without the book.  So, I did hope I or others could use the pages in a pro-town way.

Currently, I'm scared that it may be possible for people not-me to copy the book and copy the pages and get 1+ books with 3+ pages.  This is only bad in anti-town or careless hands, but the way items are shifting around is scary, the struggle to figure out alignments is scary, and player error risks are also scary.

OMG.  It's D2, Toons is complaining, has a list.

And somehow I'm not the cause of or directly targeted as any of his things to complain about.

Maybe someday Toons forgives me and play is joy in that way too again.

The infection mechanic looks pretty similar to a mafia kill but ghosts can't use the mafia kill, otherwise, I would've mentioned that too.

FoU took it, could have taken other thing(s).  A forced trade I could not refuse and did not need to agree to D1.

FoU claims to have 'somehow lost it N1'.  Egan claims to have it.  Vermillion claims it's one of the items being wagered in the chat.

If it's the same chat game rules I was in with Tric, if they carefully don't lose the game and no 3rd party steals the wagered stakes - then the wagered items are lost at the end of the day.

I can't give it to you.  I do not have it.
