"Ulstangers." Lord Yared Althere says the name like a curse. "We haven't been able to deal with their raiders properly since the night roads opened."
He looks toward Vax. "Your control of the husks is impressive. If you could do the same to their draugr, then we could teach them a lesson."
As he speaks the sky turns to storm, and Yared realizes he's the cause. "And it appears I have a few tricks of my own. We should go to this village and show these invaders they are still  unwelcome in Ancalia."

“I’m not sure it’d work on draugr.  I might need to get more powerful first.”

“No one will risk us bringing the curse to their shores.” He glances at the assembled Godbound, from frosty haired Maksimillion to the albino Vax.

“They might not have taken us anyways. “
Thyraxxus gives another toothy smile.

"Everyone takes opportunities. Let's see what Nekoik has to offer."

“I’m all for going to Nekoik.”

Vac discreetly takes a hair from the fisherman for “Insurance Purposes,” and then, if they decide to sail there, takes his undead with him and also uses A Pale Crown Beckons to create undead.  No effort invested, casted slowly.

Maksimilian tilts his head. "Are they indeed unwelcome? I suppose it might pay to claim more human loyalties."

"They've spent generations raiding our coast, killing our people, and desecrating their bodies to make them undead slaves. There are few who are less welcome."

The Wanderer goes over and quickly (but carefully) inspects some of the pacified dead, seeing if they're the same as whatever abominations prowl the Bleak Reaches, generally comparing notes on where he has ended up compared to the various places he's been before.

"I see no reason not to start with a small village, particularly one in need. Things are...far from normal. For anyone here."

I will, obviously, hurry the journey along if and when we depart.

"Is that three for village, two for town?"

"That does seem to be the case. Your assistance freeing the village would be appreciated, But I'm sure passage can be found there if you wanted to go straight to Nekoik."

(I can also speed our passage by making sure we have perfect wind for sailing.)

"May as well investigate together."

Head with party to village.

The Wanderer examines the undead standing before him. Pacified, the husk still follows him with its eyes, and darts to new noises. He knows that they are not believed to still possess the same sense of smell.

No trace of humanity remains in its eyes, and that empty gaze is all too familiar to the Wanderer. Husks are not an uncommon sight in the Bleak Reaches, but those are generally isolated to localized outbreaks. Not the kind of swarms that swallow and devastate nations, like what has happened here in Ancalia.

Vax slides behind Nahaniel and tries to pluck a hair. (Dex check, needs to beat an 8, rolls a 6).
Nahaniel curses and spins around to see a hair in Vax's fingers. The fisherman looks at the tall albino man who commanded the dead and goes pale.

"What, what's he going to do with that?" He backs away, and turns to Maksimilian. "Hey, we've agreed to guide you, he's not going to curse me or anything, is he?"

After discussion, most of the party seems set to go to the village. Nahaniel, still concerned, ushers everyone aboard the boat. He refuses to allow any of the undead husks on board.

"The village is just a few miles away." He glances over the eclectic group, from the regal Ancalian to a frosty Fae. "There are only a few Ulstanger's there, but their nasty folk. You folk don't look like easy prey, they're not going to be happy to see you."

Decide on your approach. Nahaniel is fine with taking you all to the docks, but if you want to do any disguises, sneaking,or a more aggressive approach, nows the time.

Let's head to the docks to start with. While some of us don't look human and thus might attract attention, we're not actually enemies with anyone yet.

Though if certain party members keep collecting souvenirs from random people to, I assume, curse or bind them later, we will have enemies in short order.

Village by the Sea

The boat pulled into the small bay in which the fishing village sits. Nahaniel remains a bit unnerved. Even with a favorable wind, the journey passed much faster than it normally would.

The village huddled against the shore. It was a squat, depressing collection of buildings. It was fortified, hiding behind a wall of palisades.

As the boat pulls into the docks, a crowd begins to gather. Each one is armed with something, and their faces are hard. All have seen and dealt with horrors to survive here.

The two fishermen begin to tie the boat to the dock as a weedy man steeps forward.

“These don’t look like your usual customers, Nahaniel.” The headman says, eyeing the Godbound gathered on the boat.

Nahaniel finishes his knot and looks at the headman, Yishern. He was old and weathered, by more than the sea and sky. He shook his head.

“They are certainly not,” Nahaniel says.

Nicomos nudges Yared. “Ulstanger over there.”
Outside the largest building a large man clad in leathers leaned against the wall, an axe hanging by his hip. He watched the boat with a casual interest.

Whispers began to spread through the crowd as they notice the unusual appearance of the Godbound on the boat. Hands tighten on weapons, and fear grows in their eyes and hearts. This is their home, last bastion of refuge. What do these strange outsiders bring?

Tension is beginning to rise. What do the Godbound do?
