Would that I could have self-hammered last game. Nope, spent N1 doing nothing but waiting cause I got infected N0.

Naughty.  I still think that would have harmed town.  Dude, we elimed mafia D1, and you were town.  The heck you wanna hammer town-self instead of elim maf.  The heck!
Imp, as a reminder of Ouija chat I was Mafia last game.

Oh right, thanks.  Yeah, my head is muddled there, I got memories where you're tagged 'town' and most others where I'm properly remembering that omg you're not town and your playstyle was less scary/intense as maf (that one time at least) than it has usually been when you're town or town/sk.

Extra good reminder that it can help maf to die in some rare games, freeing them to oomph their partner or do other things.

I'm town.
I'd say my power level is pretty low this game, but it could put some work in if the right situation comes up.

Also, to be fair, EJ was part of the winning team last time.

How's life, Verm?  Should I adjust for stress levels?

CrystalizedMire and NJW what do you notice about this game as of whenever you get here to talk?

Imp - Pretty good! Only thing I'm concerned about is that I may be interrupted by Christmas.

EJ - We love revivals

NQT - *blows up pancakes with mind*

Tric - What do you think the strongest role in this setup could be?

I'm not used to a setup being this low-powered, I keep looking at my role and getting my brain scrambled.

Hypercompetent
:')
Could go for the day 1 Jack lynch. Make some data or make like an euchre tree. Defending me does not constitute town, rather much the opposite when you poke things and distrust.
And then Tric does the one thing that confirms he's town: Attacks the first person that accuses him of being Town.  Thanks Tric, I can now use you as a divining rod to discover scum.

Notice of intent to vote CrystalizedMire or NJW if they do not post.  Maybe we can avoid the tradition of lynching lurkers? Please Crystal & NJW?

Eh, Tric's a Miller and I can't do anything tonight unless someone dies with one of the powers I can actually use.  If you can act in the night phase in any meaningful way, congrats I guess.

Fallacy likes interesting roles. Mostly Vanilla Mafia is usually a bit of a hoot purely based upon the custom roles.

Also: I'm not going to worry about you on Day 1.  I know that Imp can read you perfectly from last game. Bwah ha ha!

Good point. I actually don't think NJW has seen the thread yet, since I think he lives in the UK.

please don't listen to EuchreJack's advice, he always gets lynched d1
Says the guy who always gets lynched d1 for not talking enough
... I haven't been d1 lynch in like...

since that one Supernatural I guess

Do you just make things up and then believe them?

I guess I forgot Armed Forces Basic Edition but that was because I hammered myself to force everyone to trust my plan. That was where I learned that self-hammering is actually awesome and now I do it all the time.
Prove it.  :P

Hyper, the main difference I think between live mafia and forum is you can't really judge tone as well, but the benefit is what people say sticks around forever. How important do you think it is to vote someone out on day one?

Starver, reasonable enough to wait and see. How about asking someone a question? Like CrystallizedMire, perhaps?

NJW, what's your number #1 town tell?

Imp, what's the most important lesson you've learned for scumhunting?

TricMagic, do you like VermillionSkies' last post?

i’d say, the permanence of what is said does leave certain avenues open, such as better note-taking.

i think that, based on my games, voting someone day one is not too important, but depends on specifically how (many) people are talking, establishing patterns, etc. based on games i’ve read here, it seems people view it as almost giving the mafia a free night, and i read someone say that they might as well start on n1 instead of d1.
so, notquitethere, i assume bay12 takes it’s d1 vote seriously?

Crystal notice to actually post this game. I know that if you don't post today you won't post tomorrow, and that's terrible.

I notice this isn't really a question about anything. Or at least, it's not a question that a first post with any content wouldn't answer anyway. Is this suspicious?

It's not suspicious that Imp is inviting people into the game.

It is suspicious that Imp couldn't find something specific to ask about. That has never been a problem before.

NJW, what's your number #1 town tell?
Interesting question, in that I had to think about it for a while. Obviously good town-tells are situational and person-specific, but that's not an answer.

I think it's poor/scummy/self-incriminating play of a kind showing town motives.

It's easy to be a virtuous mafioso in the thread - reasoned discussion and readslists cost nothing. Dubious shit D1 is less easy for mafia to pull off, but pretty common for town. One example would be Max's Soviet Mafia where CrystallizedMire used an item that stopped everyone voting her D1 - instant townread, though I read CM quite well sometimes regardless. Another would be the Demon Mafia game D1 where you claimed a revive and made it clear you hadn't thought about the setup much.

Hmm... lots of chatter. Bit of content so far, but not much. I like how we're keeping role talk to a minimum. Some players I don't know that well this game, so that'll be interesting. Quite a neutral vibe to the thread.

I like NQT for some reason, despite their questions leading to me writing something that doesn't contribute to the game. Wondering about Imp - no obvious agenda yet. Max is quiet, but I guess that's not always a bad thing. Trying to remember if I've played with Verm before... I know I've seen them around but not sure if we've been in a game together. Hyper seems smart, can't tell much else. Starver scares me a bit. Claims from EJ and Tric are nice, useful for getting a bit closer to a lock on their alignments.

Starver: apart from Tric, there haven't been any real pressure votes yet. How useful do you find vote pressure in your analyses D1?

Also, why did you say this:

[1] Which is a bit more than Log(10) and only slightly less than √10.

Imp, what's the most important lesson you've learned for scumhunting?

??? attempts to rank all the lessons learned Intent interwoven through personal expression/style over time.

Day 1 will end at Sunday, 6 PM, Central time, or upon a hammer.[/b]
Addendum: The forum has been going through connection issues lately, and additionally it's the holiday season.

Fallacy, could we get a prod for CrystalizedMire in case all the many factors make it harder for her to find/notice the game has started?

That's usually how we handle a drive to see someone post; the mod may say it's too early or whatever for a prod.  With 48 hours, 15 hours without a post isn't unusual; if the game started right after I went to bed and I had no time to post before work on a day when I get no time to use my phone even to say 'Pfp.  Life is impossible.  I'll post in like 10 more hours, haven't even read the thread and can't and I gotta recover after work too.'  And it could be like 20 hours of silence if we started on a really bad day for me.
