"Wait and get healed before we look for any stragglers. No more nasty surprises." Aras said as he turned to look at Markus and (accidentally) bonked Merewin's head with his healing staff in the process of mending his remaining wounds.

"Yes should probably take a breather some of you got beat up pretty bad." Lilinoe said not really paying attention as she moved over to the runied books shelf picking through the remains hoping to see what remained.

@Markus:

"Right, let us take Aras with us, Markus. Emilia, you and others should wait here in case my father gets impatient." Merewin said, brandishing his sword after rubbing at his now-healed back.

@Lilinoe:

Most of the books are ruined beyond recognition. Few with pages still containing readable writing seem to have been ledgers. A book, fancily bound in leather, with golden letters with side, 'ON ELFS', has all its pages fused into a pile of smudged ink and soggy parchment.

Loose pages of ledgers, item lists and middle-paragraphs-of-something are strewn about also.

Markus shook his head.

: Negative, we shouldn't expose our healer to unnecessary risk. Either Lilinoe or Sebastian should be accompanying us if their wounds have healed.

[Haspen]

"I see. Sebastian shall go with us."

"Dearie me, what shall I do in my wounded state?"
Sebastian said as he walked across, mostly healed.
"Ah well. I suppose I could aid you in finding a few unfortunates."

"Let's go then." And Merewin does go first.

The dining hall, just beyond the foyer, was made a sleeping quarter for the now-dead bandits. Bedrolls and blankets all strewn about with personal items and spare clothes. The kitchen beyond was fueled by broken pieces of furniture and books.

The remainder of the first floor was bedrooms, but these weren't used, most of furniture missing, whilst rooms and cells used for storage of goods were all trashed.

The second floor, which was meant to house the nobility, was in a better state - but only because the furniture was heavy and unsuited for being chopped down into firewood. Dust covers all. One room was once a library, now its shelves empty. Another perhaps a laboratory, or a healer's apothecary - broken vials and bottles and missing cauldrons and pots could be used for either.

Merewin shakes his head as he leads the group down and into the foyer again.

"At least the upper floor is liveable enough." He says to no one in particular, before walking towards Emilia.

"Emilia, go to my father and tell him it is safe to come. And that there's lots to be done here."

: While she goes, the rest of us should dispose of the bodies, either burying or burning, whichever you prefer. Time to get this place cleaned up.

Lilinoe starts sorting the papers into intact, salvageable, and trash piles as the others go about doing there stuff.

"Feel free to burn them like the Cult wants you to. Doubt they would have worthwhile to tell me even if you left me a few."

Sebastian's perpetual smile doesn't leave his face as he walks alongside them.
"It seems our unwanted guests left us some party favors to clean up. Ah, well."
He looks around at all the corpses.
"I would prefer to bury them, but burning would be more practical."

"Pshaw! I'll be fine! Still good to up and gettem!", Emilia laughed casually ignoring how close she go to actually getting unmounted.

Well, she can still obey orders...up until Merewin came back, at least.

"Emilia, go to my father and tell him it is safe to come. And that there's lots to be done here."

"Uh, sure! Be right back!", was all that came out of her before she took off out of the fort and back to the village to report to Richart.

"All clear, your, uh lordliness! They've left a huge mess behind but the baddies are all gone!"

Andrea, in the meantime, finds a nice spot to sit in front of the fort, ignoring the bodies laying about as she fixes her attire from the earlier scuffle, before moving on to inspect her violin for any damage. She could tour the fort later, when the others had finished ensuring it was clear from ne'er-do-wells.

Merewin rubbed his chin thoughtfully for a short while.

"I thought burying them would make them raise as Monsters? Or was it Undead? Is that not why we burn them? We will burn them and scatter their ashes."

@Emilia

Emilia finds Richart and Elder Orwin at edge of the village, about to move towards the keep too.

"Hoi, and thank you for the news. Elder Orwin."

"Yes?"

"Your people will undo the negligence of the decades by helping us refurbish the keep. I'm sure you have carpenters and masons amongst your folk. Now come with us, you will survey the damage with your own eyes."

"O-of course..." And they start to walk, when Richart moves closer to the pegasus rider.

"So, how bad is it?"

: I always thought that was a silly superstition. They don't come back on their own, it's always someone else's doing. Markus grumbled.

: But it's no skin off our backs to do it either way, so might as well burn them.
