'Has there been any rumors or anything strange coming from the area of the mines aside from the spiders? Like reports of hauntings or strange figures entering or exiting them?"

"Was it this bag that you saw her carrying?". Emilia asked, producing the tattered bag she'd taken from the skeleton. "She, uh, got eaten by spiders. I'm sorry."

[Haspen]

"Well, probably her bag, yes. And no, since the mines were closed down, there wasn't much going about it. No cultists or homeless vagrants living in there, anyway."

At the mention of the bag and who it might have belonged to, Sebastian's eyebrows are furrowed.
"Unfortunate. Ah well. Perhaps we might be best served finding the wyvern. Poor fellow might be peckish and must be worried sick."

[Haspen]

"Right, you guys, you go chat with the others if they seen any wyvern flying about." Meinhart raises his hand at the other peasants, who quickly move back towards the village.

"Aras, you've been quiet for a while now. Are you okay? Are you okay, Aras?"

Sebastian simply nods. There was no need to them to know what became of the poor creature or their rider. Not yet, anyway.

"Also yes, Aras. Cat got your tongue?"

"Cat? Where? I love cats. They're so cute! Here, puss, puss, puss...", Emilia twirled around, hissing distractedly as if calling to a non-existent cat before finally catching herself, embarrassed at her own display.

"Oh, um, right. Um, sorry 'bout tha'."

[Solymr]

Markus sighed.

: Let's just return to the village for now, shall we? We report to Richart, see if he approves of Lilinoe's... method, then come back here and finish cleaning up for the villagers to start working.

[Haspen]

"Let us go, then." And they go, with Merewin glancing just once at the mine, as if something was off.

A longer while later
Ravenkeep, Forestwatch Region, Eastern Estphal

Richart covers his mouth with his fist as Merewin and others walk as a group into the study.

"Father, we're back." Richart coughs into his hand, and then straightens his posture.

"I'm hopeful that your sortie was successful?"

"I believe so. We're killed lots of those big spiders, and burned their egg sacs as well. We've checked every corner and tunnel that we've found."

"Even if one or two managed to hide, that's still much less than the whole nest of them."

"There's some things that were... strange. We've found a corpse of someone, and Lilinoe found, uh, a skeleton of a wyvern. It was very weird, but she thinks she might help find the truth."

"I see. Well, Lilinoe, speak now."

[rustytengo]

"Well as Merewin said we found the body and the wyvern skeleton. We had originally thought they might be connected but given the wyvern skeleton is much older then the body, if its the body of the monster hunter that Meinhart mentioned anyway." Lilinoe took a breath "It unlikely that having a conversation with the body would actually lead to many answers aside from confirming the identity of the owner of the body. I would have a conversation with the wyvern if I could but I can't speak to wyverns and the skeleton isn't intact enough for me to anyway."

[Haspen]

"Conversation with a body?"

"She's a necromancer??"

"Necromancy doesn't mean only raising the dead to accost the living, you know." Richart makes a pause to cough into his fist again. "I've heard in, what was it, Aquileia? Necromancy means asking your deceased kin about the future, or something. If you think you could help us solve this little mystery by speaking with the deceased monster hunter, then, I won't stop you." Richart waves his hand while Meinhart inches away from Lilinoe, looking at her as if she was a demon.

"And, uh, the wyvern? It looked like the spiders, well... adorned it. With pebbels and stuff." Richart chuckles.

"I'm not an expert on Baels, and I don't think Lililone is either. Andrea, I believe, had some knowledge on them?"

"When we were in the mine, Andrea also had no idea about why the spiders wrap the body in webs, so..."

"Then that mystery will remain unsolved. Unless someone else has any ideas?"

[Solymr]

Markus approached Meinhart and spoke in a low volume.

: I assure you, there's nothing to worry about. I had my own apprehension about necromancy but it's quite useful for exterminating monsters, not just for creating them.

"Fear not Meinhert i can assure you I'm a scholar first and foremost and I have no care or interest in raising an army of the dead to being about a dark horde upon the world...no matter how trifle of a matter that would be."Lilinoe said flatly "I did have thought on the wyvern skeleton though its mostly baised of a theory with out any hard evidence." Lilinoe paused as she collected her thoughts "From what bits documents and books I could salvage from the keep there seemed to some interests in elves that some of the previous lords had. No clue it its connected but it wouldn't be a stretch to think they had a reason to be and that this could be connected."

[Haspen]

"Elfs?"

"I know it sound fantastical and I wouldn't even consider it myself if the bits I found hadn't also mentioned baels and lamias. and as the saying goes when all the possible is proven false whatever is left no matter how improbable is the truth." Lilinoe said with a nod and maybe a hint of red on her cheeks.
