Inside the copper mine
Minutes later

Odour of death and decay wafts from the hole...

The low ceiling and the narrowness of corridors forces Emilia to abandon her mount at the entrance!

The mine is surprisingly quiet... except a very, very faint scraping of appendages against stone and rock.


"What's that strange noise? I don't like it..."

Emilia shot a glance in Merewin's direction. Somehow, it seemed a bit off to have their employer's son taking point in an operation like this. Just about anything could happen.

"Actually, um, I'll take point. I've got the stronger armour, anyway. Wishin' ya the best of luck, Cap'n.", She responded cheerily, marching up to the entrance of the left tunnel and getting a very good look at the Baeling lurking just beyond it. "Sure looks ugly.", she muttered softly to herself, holding her lance steadily and aiming it towards her incoming arachnid foe.

The caves are still dark, so when Lilinoe audibly bumps her face into a wall at C21 its no surprise, probably, maybe.

Between that and Markus' torchlight, the spiders quickly took notice.

While he wasn't exactly pleased with Emilia's outburst, initiative with purpose was a good trait in Markus' eyes.

: Well struck, Emilia. Aras, Andrea and me will guard this corridor. The rest of you, continue down the main path. We'll try to catch up with you further ahead. Markus coughed from the effects of the poison, then took a step forward and obliterated another spider.

She had to fight the urge to pump her fist and whoop in celebration. She was pretty sure now was not the time for that. Still, there was a happy spring in her step as Emilia strolled past the spider corpse and marched further into the mines.
