Team 1 - Vakari Delthera

...he had made a terrible mistake.

But it was too late to change that now.

"Team, activate limiters. Lock and Load!"

Even as the deployment of his own equipment ensued, Vakari dashed over to the supply vehicle to assess the resources at their disposal. Were any of the fortifications viable to put up within ten minutes? Good, these were mostly quick-deploy. Were there any... variable-payload grenades that could be filled with glue? Wait, fuck, no explosives. Were there any items in there of unusually high potency? Not really.

"Dioren, you're scouting - Maur, invis her for now. Flare gun-" he tosses her one from the vehicle "-if you can catch sight of specific hostiles, fire it. Everyone else, with me preparing fortifications; Trout, I'll also want you anchoring those, including to each other so we can get better overhangs. Maur, I trust you to identify which of us will most benefit from invis. We need to work fast."

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

Team 2 - Jordan

If Jordan did have a reaction to Elkar's boast, it wasn't visible to anyone in the room. Turning towards Amara, he spoke in a marginally more awake-sounding tone than before.

"Nothing new on my end."

Team 1 - Meredith

Meredith couldn't help but shake her head a little in bemusement as she followed Raeh out. How could she be so. . . casual? Didn't she feel the pressure? She couldn't help but feel like she was doing something wrong by not following suit, but she was pretty sure she'd implode if she didn't have protocol to give her structure on how to best serve humanity.

Her bemusement only increased once they arrived and Raeh gave her instructions, such at they existed. She opened her mouth to ask what the objective actually was - as assumptions were universally a bad plan - but when Vakari ordered them to activate, her activation code followed instead. "Shine Bright!" She immediately focused her gaze into a nonspecific area above Vakari's head. "I'll be focusing on our melee fighters once you're in position. Assuming it's the usual signal, of course." That signal being "Vakari starts shooting," of course. "Delthera, what exactly are we prepping for? I have several thoughts, but it seems like you have something in mind." She gestures upward, sending her drone skyward to get a wider angle on their surroundings.

Team 1 - Vakari Delthera

"Delthera, what exactly are we prepping for? I have several thoughts, but it seems like you have something in mind."

"The worst case scenario. So, dragons. Defenses against both ground-level attacks and strikes from above are likely to be needed. We're getting the hardest wargame scenario available, and that includes not knowing specifically what we're fighting."

Liana

Liana had been more than a little awestruck as Raeh made her appearance - unlike the others she'd *fully* failed to even pretend to throw a salute or try and show protocol - but the prospect of a fight dunked a proverbial bucket of water on her. She jumped to action releasing her limiter with a shout of "Rock On!", slinging the first sniper she could find over her shoulder (after a quick check of the sights). Holy crap holy crap what the heck would they be doing if Raeh was here to watch...

Team 1 - Tyline

Tyline twists his limiter while shouting "Activate!" He rushes to grab the deployable fortifications. Whilst also grabbing a bow and arrows for potential offense. Then anchoring fortifications by binding them to the ground or each other with glue.

Team 1 - Meredith

As Liana grabbed her sniper, she disappeared from sight. This was followed shortly by Meredith hurrying up to the weapons herself, going to the pile of melee weapons to find a sword with a close-enough heft to the one she favored. "I'll keep you stealthed until you return or the enemy appears. Be ready to go for cover." She lifted one blade, and after deciding the weapon is good enough, deliberately closed her eyes to keep the strain on them down. She fixed Liana and to a lesser extent the whole scenario in her mind; Meredith wasn't exactly prone to accidentally clearing her thoughts, but it wouldn't hurt. She navigated back to Vakari with her eyes still closed, using her birds-eye view. "Drone's not picking up anything yet," she said, sticking her arm out to show the wrist-mounted display.

Team 2 - Dia

Kovich: how fast do your flames move these days?

"About, uhh..." Dia gestures with a hand in a futile gesture to communicate how fast the flame moves. "I have it down to 20, maybe 19 seconds."

Liana

Liana shortly returned after a quick survey of the area. "Got nothing," she said to Vakari, "Nobody I could see anyway. No mines or grenades, so figure I go find a spot to post up." She said. She gestured to her sniper rifle, briefly forgetting she was in fact invisible and the team leader couldn't see her or her gun. She'd kept an eye out while looking for people; places someone might hide were, naturally, also places she could set up with her rifle, and she'd need to book it to get in position before time was up.

Team 2 - Amara

Amara frowned, clearly expecting a much more usable figure. "I see. Any questions regarding our role?"

She actually didn't have many details herself beyond what she just told them, but...

Team 3 - Saif

Saif sat down with a sigh. "In all honesty I do like studying aboard the Elineit. And I'd be happy to follow along if everyone else in the squad went to public school but-" he grinned ear to ear in a very deliberate way to show off the very noticeably predatory canines the dracotines had.

>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

Team 3- Cordelia

"Truth be told I don't either. However, starting fresh might be a good experience" Cordelia states, thinking to herself for a few moments, "Plus, I doubt we would be split apart from just going to different schools, so I retract my earlier statement. A public school sounds like it could be a new experience."

Team 2 - Elkar

Elkar stretched and yawned, like a bored cat. "I had some questions about our responsibilities. When we are actually, you know, fighting the dragons - will there be, like, civilians there that we have to protect? Like soldiers, or, like, citizen journalists? Documenting our feats and exploits for all time? Would these citizen journalists, like, be broadcasting our fight live? To an audience of thousands? Millions? Would millions of people be watching us live?"

Team 2 - Amara
Rather surprisingly, his commander snorted at the question. "Fanciful. But no. No journalists, no broadcasts. Certainly no audience of millions; such figures likely dwarf the remaining population. Just us and potential calamity, on opposite sides of the gate. Live long enough to hold it back, maybe recognition will come. Maybe not. We do our duty regardless. As for dragons... that is up to them. We are not expected to kill any ourselves, but... if one were to just happen to die in the course of us holding it off while the civilians evacuate..."

She smirked, leaving the rest unspoken. For it didn't need to be. It faded so quickly, it might've been a trick of the light though. "I have no knowledge of any regular troops assigned to us. I assume what you see here is all we will get. For the better, too. Ordinary soldiers will quickly become liabilities in a direct closed-quarters confrontation with dragons."

Team 2, Saviri

Saviri grins at the prospect of meeting more regular humans. "Maybe those soldiers will be nice! And, Elkar!" Saviri moves much more quickly than his lanky frame suggests, suddenly appearing next to and lifting Elkar into the air. "You can show off to them! That'll be fun, and they'll feel grateful we can do this job! They won't hate us!" He lifts Elkar higher into the air, grinning widely as he does.
