Meredith

"Unfortunately, I cannot. I'd recommend not being quite so anxious in front of them, though." While she technically didn't know who it was, her presence here meant it probably wasn't another Warrior, which didn't leave many other candidates available. Unless they were just putting her under another Warrior anyway, which would grate more, but she'd make the best of it. "First impressions and all. Sort of."

Team 3 - Elkar

Elkar sauntered into the room coolly and casually, yet with a swagger like he was the star of the show. He nodded over to Saviri, noticing the sweating and panting. With a confident smile, he joked. "Hey. Where's the fire?"

Janette

Melissa appears to be busy practicing poses, each time throwing back her jacket in an ever more impressive fashion. "Mwahahah!", she gave a low chuckle to herself. "At long last, the time of destiny nears. Soon, the world shall tremble at the wake of one Melissa von Zwischenzeit, Dark Flame of the Origin. Behold!" She swung an arm out towards the doors, as if intending to summon their new squad leader. Apparent silence. "I said, behold!" Apparently, she was going to repeat this until he showed up.

Meredith

The Warrior in the room put one hand to her temple, taking another bite of her bread with another. "He'll be here when he's done with briefing, Smith."

Lamprys

Lamprys looks again and again at the papers to make sure he got it right, but, even to his tired mind the evidence it's unmistakable. There has been an error in the forms. For a moment he is tempted to simply make a note and leaving it for the next day, but after the sorry spectacle he offered Dr. Saan today this is not the time for laziness. He looks at the clock, trying to remember when the administrative offices closed down. Maybe he could still go there and try to find out why the form was missing despite the approval. "I hope it's just a clerical error..." He thought.

Liana

"...Can't make that bad a first impression with her here, can I?" Liana said, raising an eyebrow at Meredith.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Vakari

Leader Campbell thought for a moment. "Alright, I'll make a few calls." he said, "They're down in meeting room 304, can you find your way there on your own?"

Team 1: Vakari, Meredith, Melissa, Tyline, Liana

Though they awaited briefing, most of Team 1 was astute enough to recognize that their new commanding officer, whoever that was to be, wanted to brief them personally.

Tak. Tak. Tak.

"Behold! ...Behold!
I said Behold!"

Vakari raised an eyebrow.
Oh boy.

He opened the door and turned toward the source of the 'behold'ing. "Rank 2 Smith, please desist with that." Tone stern and face stony, it was not the impression he would have preferred, but it was necessary nonetheless.

Swiftly, though without looking rushed, he turned his attention to the rest of the group. He quickly replaced his prior expression with a neutral smile - positive enough to engender acceptance to the team, but straight enough to not encourage laxity. (Perhaps too little, perhaps too late.)
"Salutations, Team 1. As you may already know, I am Elite Warrior Vakari Delthera, and I will be your commanding officer." His tone, too, had shifted, now being professional and smooth. "Understand this: you have been identified as the dracotine training program's best in class, and this team is designed to be the strongest. High command will be testing our capabilities, and if we should be found capable, we will be making the first expedition since Operation Phoenix Thrust."

Since before any of us, perhaps barring Maur, were born, he did not say. I will decide if we are capable, he did not say.

"While I have access to your files-" which he did not have time to check between meeting Leader Campbell and getting here "-I would still like to hear about your capabilities in your own words, as I expect that you each have greater specific insights into their workings than the documentation provides." He allows the neutrality to crack a bit, his tone to soften. "It's also been a few years since I've worked with most of you, so general reintroductions would likely also best be in order."

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

Meredith

Meredith snapped to attention instantly, standing up and nearly hurling her precious snack across the room in her haste to set it down. "Warrior Meredith Maur, sir, reporting for duty." She gave a stiff, sharp salute, despite the fact that they knew each other well at this point. "Classification: Light Conjurer, my power makes whatever I blink at invisible. I can also turn invisible myself by closing my eyes if I focus properly." She visibly debated with herself for a moment, before adding, "It's not a reliable talent, though, sir. I also have excellent scores in basic combat skills and small unit tactics."

Tyline

Tyline stands next, slowly as if getting out of a comfortable position. Throwing a sloppy salute, before speaking in a bored manner yet tinged with annoyance.
"Rank 2 Tyline Trout, sir. Water Striker, I can produce glue that dries in half a minute and can only be unstuck by..." he grimaces "My spit, or saliva as the professionals calls it. Like normal glue, my glue can also be safely stored within bottles."

Jordan

Jordan shuffled into the room shortly after Elkar. His entrance was announced by a yawn and stretch. So what were we called here for, exactly? he thought to himself as he scanned the room. Taking notice of how Saviri appeared to be about ready to keel over from heat exhaustion (not that it was even that hot), he produced a bottle of water from his jacket pocket.

"I was gonna drink this.... but looks like you need it more." he said, handing the bottle over. Jordan spoke rather quietly and lazily, sounding as if he'd just woken up.

Ren

Ren had spent her time waiting leaning against one of the walls close to the exit, her eyes closed and quietly listening to the argument Cordelia and Kaymor were having, ready to intervene at any moment. Which happened right after Kaymor was about ready to throw the first punch. "Knock it off Kaymor, if you're so bored you should-"

As she was about to try and de-escalate this situation, Ren got interrupted by their new team leader's entrance. Her posture changed from her more relaxed attitude to a prim and proper salute in an instant "Rank 1, Ren Voldaren, Sir."

Liana

Should have guessed it would be Vakari if Meredith wasn't the boss - that guy was definitely the officer type from what she recalled prior to his class transfer. Liana jumped to her feet and threw up a quick and dirty salute. "Rank 1, Liana Dioren. I'm an Earth Ranger; the ground might as well be an ocean instead far as I'm concerned, and I can take stuff with me when I swim through it." She was glad for that, she'd worried back when she first figured out the power that she'd drop through the ground un-clothed... "I'm a pretty damn good shot with the sniper they gave me. And have a good throwing arm for the bombs, too."

Team 3 - Saif

It was good to see the situation was defused quickly! Saif didn't want the first meeting of his team to start with a brawl. Or end with one, mind you. "Great! Might as well introduce our powers as well then. I can create shockwaves by striking a surface with my hands or feet. The power of the shockwave depends on how solid the surface is, they can barely affect living things, and I can focus them at a loss of a lot of power."

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

Cordelia

"Ah, powers, right. I suppose you haven't gotten the files on us yet huh" Cordelia says as she spins around on her foot, walking over to a nearby table and sitting down on it, folding her legs and twirling her hat around her finger, "Well, my ability is not a particularly spectacular one. I simply make little bubbles anywhere I can see, and these bubbles can contain one fluid of my choosing while preventing others from entering. But, I can't exactly *focus* the bubbles where I want them yet."

Saviri

Saviri looks up and smiles at his benefactor. "Thanks, friend Jordan. But I need to just hold on. Ice doesn't do so well at this temperature, so neither do I!"
he says. He does cut back on the panting a bit, and makes no move to take the water bottle. If he did he'd probably douse himself with it again and he really didn't need to make this hurry up and wait situation any worse. "Anyone know why they have us here? You think it's about our tests at school?"
