Vakari
Leader Campbell thought for a moment. "Alright, I'll make a few calls." he said, "They're down in meeting room 304, can you find your way there on your own?"
Team 1: Vakari, Meredith, Melissa, Tyline, Liana
Though they awaited briefing, most of Team 1 was astute enough to recognize that their new commanding officer, whoever that was to be, wanted to brief them personally.
Tak. Tak. Tak."Behold! ...Behold!
I said Behold!"Vakari raised an eyebrow.
Oh boy.
He opened the door and turned toward the source of the 'behold'ing. "Rank 2 Smith, please desist with that." Tone stern and face stony, it was not the impression he would have preferred, but it was necessary nonetheless.
Swiftly, though without looking rushed, he turned his attention to the rest of the group. He quickly replaced his prior expression with a neutral smile - positive enough to engender acceptance to the team, but straight enough to not encourage laxity. (Perhaps too little, perhaps too late.)
"Salutations, Team 1. As you may already know, I am Elite Warrior Vakari Delthera, and I will be your commanding officer." His tone, too, had shifted, now being professional and smooth. "Understand this: you have been identified as the dracotine training program's best in class, and this team is designed to be the strongest. High command will be testing our capabilities, and if we should be found capable, we will be making the first expedition since Operation Phoenix Thrust."
Since before any of us, perhaps barring Maur, were born, he did not say. I will decide if we are capable, he did not say.
"While I have access to your files-" which he did
not have time to check between meeting Leader Campbell and getting here "-I would still like to hear about your capabilities in your own words, as I expect that you each have greater
specific insights into their workings than the documentation provides." He allows the neutrality to crack a bit, his tone to soften. "It's also been a few years since I've worked with most of you, so general reintroductions would likely also best be in order."
