Team 1 - Liana

Oh that was... wow. Wow. Liana was genuinely stunned by the sudden ascent of the First Elite. It felt less like watching a woman come to fight and more like seeing a second sun in the sky. Hearing the others shouting snapped her out of it, and she tried to regain her composure - she'd melted further into the ground as her focus on maintaining the earth at her feet slipped. Raeh descended on them like a comet - heading right for Meredith. Her hands slick with sweat and her heart beating so loud in her chest she would swear everyone would hear it if it weren't for the roar of flame, she tried to line up a shot. It wouldn't be anything like likely to hit, not when she's not got a feel for the muzzle velocity of this particular rifle and with a target moving like that, but if she could force Raeh a bit off track or be ready when she eventually had to slow she could at least not make a fool of herself...

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Team 1 - Janette

"Go blaze away, this frail body of mine. Upon the flames of mine origin, roar out and set this world alight!" Melissa fought down a nervous gulp at the sight of the arrival of the First Elite and then cracked a cocky-looking grin and leapt out from her hiding place and simply charged at the towering Elite. Her boots tracing a screech of flame as she pounced her way towards the target. "Weltflamme Impact!"

"Something about the briefing said something about school? What's that about? What are they going to teach us?" Elkar said, disinterested about learning but curious about their plans.

Team 1

For someone with next to no practice shooting at high-speed moving targets, Vakari's aim was impeccable. He reacted with both speed and precision, but even with his skill, he had no chance.

And neither did Meredith.

Raeh hit the ground with meteoric force, the shockwave launching Meredith backwards through the air. She was moving high and fast enough that she had time to consider whether or not she would even survive landing as she stared up at the sky. This fear only lasted briefly before Raeh caught her. It wasn't exactly a gentle rescue, and Meredith rapidly found herself dropped to the ground as her rescue turned to face her next opponent.

Melissa slammed into the same spot Raeh had, skidding to a stop inside the small crater far too late to actually do anything. Raeh raised her fists in a defensive posture, leaving time not only for Melissa to reorient and prepare another attack, but for the rest of the team to recover from her explosive entrance.

Team 1 Meredith

Meredith just sort of stewed in her own failure for a moment, staring into a (now-invisible) patch of dirt. The injury to her pride matched what she imagined her fall might have felt like if it hadn't been interrupted. She politely stayed "dead" and deactivated her limiter for the moment, waiting for everyone to inevitably outshine her piss-poor performance while also still getting massacred despite her best efforts.

"Yes," Amara shrugged, "I know little except there will be a choice between continuing our current arrangements or transferring to public. I see little point in the latter, personally."

Team 1 - Tyline

Having reached his angled cover of choice, Tyline watches stock-still as Meredith gets flung through the air and safely returned to the ground by the First Elite. Suddenly remembering that if he doesn't do anything to stop or more likely distract the First Elite, he might as well never get the chance to do anything before becoming the next involuntary bird. Nocking an arrow to the string and drawing the bow, his hands shaking in fear and doing breathing exercises to calm his nerves. He aims toward the First Elite and hopefully lets loose the arrow before Janette engages and blocks the shot.

If it comes the worst. Tyline has a stupid idea and knowledge that the First Elite isn't going to murder or injure them hopefully.

Team 1 - Vakari Delthera

BANG-BANG

Where's Maur?

BANG-BANG

Visual: caught and landed. Not dead.

Two guns are deposited. Only one is retrieved; at this distance, and with the specific situation of the First Elite's opponent's attack on Maur 'resolved' (lost), there was no longer an immediate reason to continue overheating.

BANG

No reason to stop firing, though.
Training exercise, Vakari.
Maur wasn't dead, but she was 'dead'. Out.

BANG

They were... probably fucked. Unless Smith proved she was far more effective than she seemed, they probably did not have the ability to win this fight.
They definitely wouldn't have the resources to fight it a second time.

BANG

But this wasn't the type of fight you could run from. Not the kind where you could 'conserve resources'.
Just the kind where you fought as hard as you could, hoping you could kill the dragon before it killed everybody.

BANG

So he fought.
And if Raeh their opponent came for him... a line intersects itself at all points, and he could fill those points with metal.

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

"Don't overly concern your self with such... frivolities." Amara shook her head. "Need I remind you our existence makes average humans deeply uncomfortable?"

Team 2 - Jordan

"Hey, you never know.  Maybe some people are into things that make average humans deeply uncomfortable."

Jordan cracked a small smile as he said this. It was the most emotion he'd shown outwardly since his arrival. "But anyways," he continued. "I assume all the dracotines got this choice, not just us?"

Team 1 - Liana

Liana didn’t even get off a shot in time; seeing how fast Raeh moved made her feel like she was in slow motion. But as the dust settled she snapped back to focus. Seeing Vakari take the lead and open fire, she followed suit, lining up supporting shots in an attempt to catch the living fireball that was the First Elite in a crossfire.

Team 1 - Janette

Melissa raced towards the towering missile yet a step too late to save Meredith from the impact of the fist of the First Elite. Sher shot a glance in Meredith's direction. Seemed alright. A bit bruised, likely, but seemed to be breathing. Plenty of time for dramatics, then. Hopping backwards and sideways in a series of bounces to try to gain some room for another charge (and avoid the incoming fire coming their way), she threw back her cloak in a grand flourish and cackled. "Hark, O First One. Be thou our fated foe upon this day of destinies? This day when titans of flame shall surge together and clash! And what of our dear companion in thine arms? Be she well?" A few more bounces as she kept moving as the jets on her boots sputtered and flashed into life. If the First Elite came her way, she'd have to make ready to dash. Whether forwards or away is...well, she'll leave that choice to when the grand moment came!

Before Melissa could finish her speech, there's a flash of orange. In almost the same instant, she feels a sharp impact on her chin. As black falls over her vision, she catches another glimpse of orange: The First Elite's eyes, burning with excitement.

Raeh turns to spot her next opponent before Melissa has finished slumping to the ground. Several bullets intercept the space she just vacated. "Talk might work on dragons, but it means nothing to me." The words take longer to speak than Melissa did to knock out.

She catches the arrow as it arrives late to the party (and well off its intended course). Her head whips to the side to spot Tyline cowering behind a rock. She throws her fists out behind her and closes the gap to the obstruction in a matter of moments.
