Liana

Liana bolts to the sniping position. Once she arrives she uses her power to sink into the ground partially, and takes the remaining time to focus on her power - treating the earth around her legs as solid in order to get a stable and relatively concealed firing position.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Team 1

As the time ticked down, the entire team felt the building tension. They had no idea what they'd be facing or if their meager fortifications would be enough. As the ten minute mark neared, a shout echoed across the training field.

"Flare up!"

No matter how strong their nerves, each and every dracotine present felt the blood rush from their face as sweat spontaneously erupted across their bodies. When Leader Campbell promised the most difficult wargame materials available, he really wasn't playing around.

A jet of flames launched up into the air, high enough that it was difficult to see unaided. While Liana might have checked her scope under different circumstances, awe pushed aside her training, leaving only Meredith's drone to confirm that the thing rocketing above them was indeed the First Elite.

Team 1 - Meredith

Oh god what.

"Brace for impact! Screw the fortifications, just scatter!" Meredith scrambled to be basically anywhere except where the First Elite was about to land, insofar as she could tell where she was landing. Fortunately, she did not blink in startlement, but that did mean she clipped one of their fortifications on her way to get out of the blast zone.

Team 1 - Vakari Delthera

Vakari was internally simultaneously cussing himself out and kicking himself in the shins. 'I'll need the most difficult wargame materials available.' What the fuck did you think that would mean?!?

...fuck, what would even happen if he shot the First Elite? Like, not just 'shot at', but shot. In the head or something.
Would he kill First Elite Alettor? He couldn't. That- the kind of blow that would be to humanity- he couldn't!

"Wargame. It's a wargame, you won't kill her..." words under breath, all but silent. As loud as he was certain.

...he has to.

From his place atop one of the poles, invisible, Vakari readied his rifles.

He didn't have a good bead. He couldn't, not at this distance.

But the First Elite had to advance toward them before she could do anything to them physically attack them.

He took his aim.

He would have one shot. One try.

He would have to run after that, if he even had time left.

He would have to make this count.

Team 1 - Tyline

Well, the First Elite is about to squish all of them like a cruise missile launched towards an ant. Which means the fort wouldn't be enough to protect him from the blast zone, and so off he went. Dashing away from the octagon, all the way towards the furthest angled cover that would face the living rocket when it lands. Hopefully he get to do something other than getting knocked out instantly.

Team 2, Saviri.

"Got it, Amara!" Saviri says cheerfully, still holding Elkar up in the air. After a moment of thought he does put his fellow Dracotine down, if only to spare the clothes the strain as he was asked. "I'm up front in my armor! I can keep coming back if I have time to undo and redo the armor, so I'll be good forever!" He says, a big grin coming to his face.

Befoee Vakari could get a bead on her, Raeh spun in midair and sent a punch at a slight angle behind her, launching herself directly towards Meredith. She moved fast enough that the drone wasn't able to fully track her movement, leaving Meredith completely blind to the attack.

Team 3 - Cordelia

"You know, I worry that you genuinely will try to cut my head off one of these days" Cordelia comments towards Kaymor, shaking her head at their insistence on her being able to 'block her sword', "Regardless, how often do you seen me being bullied around the ship? I'll admit that I'm not on... Everyone's good graces, but I chalk that up to a difference in attitude."

Vakari Delthera

Fuck.

"MAUR, GET COVER!"

You asked for this, Vakari.
Shut up. This is not the time.

The plan was dead - first contact, second contact, third contact with the enemy. No plan may survive.
You make a new one. Long live the plan.

Vakari knew where Meredith was. Everybody could see where the sky burned, even if they couldn't truly see the First Elite.

Between any two points is a line, the shortest path from A to B.

Vakari had a decent idea of how quickly his bullets traveled. His idea of how quickly the First Elite was traveling was a great deal rougher.
Any two distinct lines intersect at, at most, one point. At this scale and speed, for this purpose, a dracotine body was functionally a point.

A line intersects itself at all points.
He had two options: ...no. He couldn't outrun the First Elite.
He could only pray he could intercept her.

Alternating, two guns began to fire. Vakari hoped at least one bullet would reach the line of movement while the First Elite their opponent was there to meet it.

Team 3 - Ren

"Don't worry 'Bubbles'." She chuckled a bit at the sillyness of the nickname. "As long as I'm around, Kaymor here won't try anything funny with your head. Because I can certainly block her sword, though I advise you to learn how to block an incoming attack yourself. Just in case someone makes it past our defenses in the field."

Team 1 - Meredith

"What?" Meredith tried to break and reverse direction, but she could only maneuver so fast, especially because she had no idea why she was doing so. She began to draw her sword, assuming this probably had to do with something the first elite was doing.

Team 2, Saviri.

"Got it, Amara! I'm up front in my armor! I can keep coming back if I have time to undo and redo the armor, so I'll be good forever!"

Team 2 - Amara
"Interesting." Amara mused, "I thought it regenerated much slower. If all you need do is dismiss and reactivate it..." The cogs turned in her head, thinking of ways to best exploit that beyond the obvious of having him do it during the front-disengagement phase.

Team 2 - Elkar

Elkar could see Saviri trying to figure this new information she just received. "Well, well, well. You don't waste any time, do you?" He said with a smirk.

He stretches. Being carried was fun - it was like crowdsurfing (or at least, it's what he imagined crowdsurfing would be like) - but it was nice to be on the ground again. "So, let's get this show on the road. Is there some kind of rehearsal or are we going straight on?"

Team 2 - Amara
"Patience," Amara warned, still pondering how massive of a leap Saviri's armor instantly regenerating via reset was. Especially compared to well... he was still as much of an overeager puppy now as he'd been back then. Perhaps something really had changed under the surface over the last few years, perhaps not; She'd know once she got her hands on the most recent reports. "Our enemy awaits. But they don't yet stir. I will use the time until they do to assess our readiness. Hence my warning: Be Prepared. The dragons will not care if you're sleeping, eating, or relieving yourself when they attack."

Now that she thought of it, it would likely be best if they carried their kits on them, or at least somewhere immediately accessible. There wouldn't always be time to detour for essentials. She'd likely have to get the permissions to carry in school cleared, but that was a matter later. And she doubted it would be overly opposed.

Team 3 - Saif

Saif nodded. As long as they protected each other... well, it was still bad but it could've been worse. "We are still dracotines so if you go to public school you'll have the responsibility of representing us to other people so you'd have to keep that in mind as well, unfortunately."

"Now, who here has trained together before? I've been close with Peppermint for a while now, but I don't remember doing any sort of joint training with anyone else from the squad."

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.
