The Final Round of Titan Fest 2024 has concluded. And we got some good stuff for you this round.
The link to vid:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTnjHRuM9PAOur opening for this final round is a rather interesting one. The words are spelled out using creatures, like the earlier round where we used dragons. The catch is, they're all creatures participating in the tournament, and they're all on the same team, with the single lone exception of " ".
Below the words spelling out "round nine", we have a single " ", which is on its own separate team. No one has any automatic starting syndromes applied. And we hit
spacebar.

Round 9 Match Results:An Unknown Masked & Anonymous Bay12 User: 2 - 0
DPh Kraken: 0 - 2Game 1 - The Golden Kobold wins the die roll, getting to spawn in first. The Golden Kobold walks straight toward the Black Pudding, and upon reaching melee range, transforms into an instance of "Beelzebub, tenebris ignis" proper. The game doesn't last more than a blink of an eye after the transformation. The Golden Kobold takes game 1.
Game 2 - Same deal, except the Golden Kobold transform into a clone, of a clone, of the Lord of Flies, specifically, its friendship summon. The Golden Kobold takes game 2 easily, winning the match 2 - 0.
Dikbutdagrate: 2 - 0
BYE: 0 - 2Game 1 - Dikbutdagrate takes game 1 after summoning some help, and polymorphing the BYE monster into an evaporating cloud of goodbye.
Game 2 - "Webs, flies, and goodbyes" leave only a puddle of "seeya" on the edge of the screen. The BYE monster transforms into a "goodbye" monster, and evaporates. Dikbutdagrate takes game 2, winning the match 2 - 0.
Erik Blank: 0 - 2
FirePhoenix: 2 - 0Game 1 - Okay, so I know that the match results would typically indicate that we shouldn't be too excited here. Afterall, it tells us that Erik loses this 0 - 2 to " ", like, how else was this going to end?
But don't be fooled here! Game 1 is probably the closest match that we've ever observed during this entire tournament. It was wild.
The match starts with Erik Blank winning the die roll, and getting to spawn in first. I can scarcely believe it myself, but the incredible happens here, " "'s AI freaking breaks. It provides Erik Blank's creature with its only theoretical opening.
Why the hell couldn't the Lord of Flies have gotten this lucky?! The entire combat log for game 1 is hosted here, if you want to review the entire play-by-play in text form without interruptions:
https://pastebin.com/raw/Ek6Pt6WAAnd here are some screenshots of " "'s health status. First image is just after the Spelltitan is slain. The second is after allowing the game to run for some time following " "'s victory, just to see if " " would survive all the wounds it sustained. It does manage to survive, and slowly begins a
very long recovery process.
Game 2 - Womp! Erik goes down on tick 2. " " takes the match 2 - 0.
Seriously though, props to the Spelltitan, and to Erik Blank. The Golden Kobold may have secured the only 0 - 1 - 1 match result against " ", but no one came closer to actually scoring an actual game win against " ". That being said however, this is also a testament to the sheer overwhelming dominance of " ", in that, even in a straight 1-to-1 melee battle, no wagon transformations, no obsidian tile casting, " " is still able to beat Erik's Titan merely by "pushing" it to death, although it was certainly close.
Jecowa: 0 - 2
Squamous: 2 - 0Game 1 - Jecowa loses the die roll, spawning in second, but getting to use his custom arena. I'm a little confused by this one. Squamous's the Supreme Profanity polymorphs Jecowa's Phoeball into a worse version of the Supreme Profanity. Jecowa bites the Supreme Profanity, and then falls into an abyss. IDK what that was about, but Squamous gets it, winning game 1!
Game 2 - The arena shifts, and battle ensues. The Phoeball is transformed once again, as the Supreme Profanity summons multiple copies of itself. The Supreme Profanities use force blast interactions, which send the newly transformed Phoeball flying backwards. As their body skids across the ground, the Phoeball's bones shatter and tear apart, leaving its corpse to the flaming grass surrounding it's broken body. Squamous wins this won, taking the match 2 - 0.
Xzaxza: 1 - 2
Wolfkey: 2 - 1Game 1 -Xzaxza wins the die roll, getting to spawn in first. Xzaxza's Adamantine Monster immidately polymorphs Wolfkey's the Scuttler into a constantly retransforming sheep, fires a volley of projectiles, and unleashes a wave of dragonfire. The sheep is blasted into the backwall and melted in the ensuing white-hot flames. Xzaxza takes game 1.
Game 2 -This time the Scuttler spawns in first, and immediately transforms the Adamantine Monster into a wagon, which slays it on the very next tick. The Scuttler gets it, winning game 2.
Game 3 - The tie breaker for this match actually resulted in a double knock-out, however the Scuttler scored its kill first, getting the game win, and taking the match 2 - 1.
The play by play here: The Adamantine Monster spawned in first this time, but it didn't use the interaction it needed to, in order to win. Instead, it let out a terrible roar and a wave of dragonfire. To which the scuttler responded by doing the only thing it knows how to, which is turn stuff into wagons. The Adamantine Monster collapses into a pile of logs, as the wave of dragonfire consumes the crab. It takes but a moment for the crab to be roasted alive, but it had already dealt the necessary blow to secure its win.
The Scuttler wins 2 - 1.
